Whereas it would cost the FA nothing to kick the Lactics out and make everyone happy. Ideal solution.

Don't worry we won't be evicted even if this proposal is put through by the PL. I doubt that they would be able to instantly eject a club by changing the rules so Latics won't be given a "get rid or you're out" ultimatum. Once relegated they just wouldn't be allowed back in.
Whatever anyone thinks of Dave Whelan he is a savvy businessman and will realise now that
1) People in Wigan are not going to start supporting Latics in such numbers as to make them sustainable in the top flight without constantly treading water at the bottom end and having him dip into his pocket simply to keep going
2) Latics are not an appealing investment prospect for a rich person/consortium and so will not be taken off him by a rich benefactor
3) Once Latics succumb to the inevitable relegation crowds will plummet and so they will have a stadium that their income will not sustain
Once they are down he/they will need the income from Wigan RLFC to help them stave off financial meltdown. Whelan & Latics know they cannot survive in the stadium alone and so will not throw out their best option for future income in order to chase what is a pipe dream of being considered more than a 3rd tier club that just happens to have a team of players that is better than that level at the moment.

Exactly. This Prem League proposal is all about finding an excuse to get shut of clubs like Latics.

A Latics supporting pal of mine always assures me that any pitch-related negativity appearing in the national press, even if superficially it appears to be a pop at Wigan RL, is really aimed at Wigan Athletic. He reckons the powers-that-be just don't want them any more, and are putting on the pressure any way they can.
Don't know whether that's true or not. But it's a Latics fan's view.

| Quote: Andy Greg "Where did i say that i said i cannot be bothered in going into all the technical detail that is totally different.
And as for the tunnel area has sunken 18inc then there would be a cavern forming under the west stand. So its a good job it was built on a raft or the ground would have its safety certificate removed by now. Then there is the under soil heating if its true then the pipes for the heating have sunk the heating would not work as pipes would not stretch 18in without cracking. I would love to see the article in question and see who wrote it because if this is true then i will be calling for a safety check on the West Stand as that is where i sit and would not like it to collapse while i am in it.'"
I have found an article that mentions it herehttps://www.cockneylatic.co.uk/index.php?option

It would make sense, if only for this reasonhttps://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/attendance?league

Makes even more sense when you look at the other leagues and 10 clubs in the championship and 3 in league 1 have a better average than Latics.

I know, but people keep saying it as if it's a possibility. It isn't.
I'm perhaps no-one to talk. I've bought into the football 'threat' in the past. But even I now think we should put this tired old cart-horse to bed.
