| Quote: MattyB "Having been a season ticket for many years I've had to stop buying one in 2018 due to my business commitments. (I still pay on the gate when I can).
For the last two years I've fully expected the club to at least give me a call why I haven't renewed, ask me why.... "Is there anything they can do to win my business back"?
Why not? OK in my circumstances they wouldn't be able to change my mind unfortunately but there must be loads of supporters who are hovering in whether to purchase or not who are not getting called.
We're talking one person on a phone for a few hours a day throughout January.'"
I think the new GDPR regulations stopped a lot of this from happening.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

I hate having to think about our club in this way. We have no divine right to win trophies but we have every right to demand that our club is striving to be the best it can be. I just feel like we’ve hit a point where all the chickens are coming home to roost and dithering is only going to see things spiral downwards.
Not even having the SL trophy in the cabinet can paper over these cracks.'"

Jack Gibson I believe, may be wrong, but you can't argue with the sentiment.

There are aspects of this that I agree with and many that I don’t.
Lack of innovation and vision I disagree with wholeheartedly. We played a SL in Sydney, we’re playing in Barcelona, we took a game to London. We have new corporate sponsors and have Central Park and Robin Park. There is very obvious innovation and strategic vision.
Fans taken for granted and half ar5ed? I’m not sure what that means?
I see things differently I suppose. Since IL bought the club he’s been incredible for us. It was he that identified and brought in Madge and that’s when the fortunes of the club really turned round for the better. His policy of investing in youth has clearly paid off.
It was time for Shaun Wane to go. We enjoyed success but as with most things, he reached the end of his shelf life.
Make no mistake about it, Edwards was nailed on to be our next coach. There was no smoke and mirrors or publicity stunt, he was our next coach and the whole circus around him is entirely his doing. The chairman is not at fault, regardless of what has been said publicly.
Still, we need to freshen things up. Starting immediately with the appointment of our new coach (hopefully Lammy) and some clarity around succession planning.

Quite a big impact, there are Premier League clubs that don't handle this well or understand with large budgets. The chances of Wigan getting this right on their own is slim.

| Quote: Jukesays "I'm often accused or perceived as a happy clapper.
Earlier I alluded to a post is made a month or so ago and this is exactly what I meant.
Our direction off the field commercially has gone.
I've not spoke to Simon collinson for a couple of years (about a year after he left). I never asked him "why" and assumed it was his own decision and new challenges.
When I found out that Paul Macloud had moved on it shocked me, again he will have his own reasons and I'm all for new challenges etc and people looking after their own interests and their own lives and careers.
What I ask myself is why aren't we creating those challenges internally for these people?
It's not like were at the pinnacle of sports marketing and the only way is down, the opportunities are almost never ending.
So why did these people feel the need to move on?
Who's replaced them?
What are their qualifications and aspirations?
That's what I'm more worried about.
Not throwing ridiculous money at 30 somethings for a quick fix because we've lost a few games after losing 6/7/8 players to injuries.
If we don't commercially get the business right in that area then the money to fund the youth seeystem will be the next thing to go, and guess what, at that point we will have to start spending money on short term fixes because we won't have an option.
That's why the youth systzem way is the right way.
That's why the commercial and marketing positions and getting it right are so important and my big concern.'"
I believe Geoff Warburton now also heads up Marketing as well as his other role. Collinson & MacLeod both left I believe due to lack of marketing budget and also for career advancement

Just being silly now. Townsend is a good NRL half who would improve us no end. But why would he want to leave the Sharks to come to England? And speaking of the Sharks, why didn't we put in for Ricky Leutele? Always admired him,and never thought he'd leave the NRL< then found iut he was going to Toronto!

I need some more information before I agree with how innovative we’ve been. The Millwall game and Hull game, what were the actual benefits to us? Playing home games ‘away’ is not innovative but insulting to a home fanbase but I appreciate that is my opinion. Do we ‘have’ Robin Park as I thought from limited info available we were selling our asset at Orrell and trading in for rent at Robin Park! I’m highly concerned about the lack of assets on the balance sheet and is this a pre-cursor to Lenegan turning his lot in for someone else? I was supportive of Lenegan in what he did after the Whelan years but there has been a tail off in what people perceive to be his focus on what’s going on at the club. Crowds massively down, poorly managed release of information which is something his regime has actually been much better at. With regards to Lam as the coach going forward, I’d just like a proper and thorough recruitment process and not just some charity case of a decision to give it because he’s already here.

Hankinson will never be good enough to play Superleague as long as he’s got a hole in his back side.
