Quote Orrell Lad="Orrell Lad"I have had a think about this since my last post and the term sloppiness is quite broad, so I’ve tried to expand a little.
Lack of innovation & vision
Fans taken for granted
Half ar$ed
No eye for detail
No long term plan
No aspiration to define the meaning of “the best”
Secretive
Stale
Unfocused
Disconnected
I hate having to think about our club in this way. We have no divine right to win trophies but we have every right to demand that our club is striving to be the best it can be. I just feel like we’ve hit a point where all the chickens are coming home to roost and dithering is only going to see things spiral downwards.
Not even having the SL trophy in the cabinet can paper over these cracks.'"
There are aspects of this that I agree with and many that I don’t.
Lack of innovation and vision I disagree with wholeheartedly. We played a SL in Sydney, we’re playing in Barcelona, we took a game to London. We have new corporate sponsors and have Central Park and Robin Park. There is very obvious innovation and strategic vision.
Fans taken for granted and half ar5ed? I’m not sure what that means?
I see things differently I suppose. Since IL bought the club he’s been incredible for us. It was he that identified and brought in Madge and that’s when the fortunes of the club really turned round for the better. His policy of investing in youth has clearly paid off.
It was time for Shaun Wane to go. We enjoyed success but as with most things, he reached the end of his shelf life.
Make no mistake about it, Edwards was nailed on to be our next coach. There was no smoke and mirrors or publicity stunt, he was our next coach and the whole circus around him is entirely his doing. The chairman is not at fault, regardless of what has been said publicly.
Still, we need to freshen things up. Starting immediately with the appointment of our new coach (hopefully Lammy) and some clarity around succession planning.
