| Quote ray13="ray13"Sources close to Myler say he has told Reds he is simply leaving things in the hands of his agent Martin Offiah regarding his future. If this is the case, this appears to leave Salford facing an uphill battle to keep their prize asset. Offiah has kept a number of leading Super League clubs informed of developments with Myler.
With Martins Wigan connections we must be favourites'"

There's nothing at Wigan to connect to Offiah now.
I suppose it could come down to who's bid Salford accept.

Would they not accept a bid from us then? After all we've done for them.

One think I believe is, its not a done with anybody yet, we get people on this board claiming he's signed for wire, and people on other boards determined he's signed for Saints, somebody's telling porky pies.
Of all the rumours that come out, I'd like to know what percentage actually turn out to be true, I'd bet it's under 20%.
As for the Thorman/Griffin signings is that a rumour or just somebodies sick fantasy.

| i'd be surprised if saints (as the article says)are in for him with eastmond/wheeler/lomax coming through. If wigan can Myler and a decent prop or two for him and sam to hide behind when things get tough, you could have the England halfback pairing for the next decade, so if IL has anything about him he should be pulling out all the stops (and cash), just my opinion.

My feelings completely, Lenegan should pull out all the stops, I just fear he has some nondescript no hoper Aussie lined up, plus I would take joy in seeing all the wire fans who have Myler in there avatar have to remove it because he's signed for someone else.
Like you say I personally cant see saints being interested at all, not with the current options you already have, unless the rumoured Eastmond attitude problem has got worse.

| If Brian Noble is in the departure lounge before leaving then any new signings would surely be on hold, or already sorted by his successor.
The only signings would therefore be re-signings which is what we've had with Tommy and Sam.
Any future signings will perhaps have to wait until the coaching position is finalised.
If BN is to go then IL would have his replacement lined up before he left, unless a stand in coach would be prepared to take it on a temp basis. No doubt the temp bloke would also want to be certain he will be secure under the new regime before he took on the job.
For the first time today I felt Noble will go, not by what has been said but by what hasn't.
On Sam's re-signing Noble didn't say he was looking forward to working with Sam over the coming months and years. Surely that would be a pre-requisit for any coach re-signing a player of Sam's ability.
Like I say, for the first time today I really think he'll go!
There have been other give aways but I think it's a done deal he's going.

I think we need to go all out and get THE best coach from Australia we can possibly get this season. Someone who hasnt been softened by coaching in Superleague before and had that amazing knowledge of the game that can bring on young stars like Tomkins, Ainscough and hopefully some success after too many years.

For me the circumstances we find are selves in I feel will be hampering are recruitment effort, after all who is making the decisions on whom to sign, Lenegan?
Is the new coach already calling shots on who to sign without being here? If were competing with others clubs for players such as Myler and they want to no who the coach is and speak to him about how they would fit into the clubs plans, can they?
