There is nothing as I see it to prevent them applying to the Rugby Football League for admission to the Championship and Division One.
It was obvious from their results prior to the lockdown in March that their squad was not up to the standard required in the Super League and that may be why the the majority of clubs including Wigan voted them out.'"
They were voted out because they have no money and would potentially be a financial liability on an already struggling sport.
They can apply back to L1 but given the above probably wouldn't get the green light there either. |

Exactly, they had no money and were £1 million in debt and the new owner who despite paying off the debt, has now stated that if they were readmitted, they would have a further estimated debt of £3 million over the next three years.
If they cannot run on a profitable basis in Super League, what chance have they and indeed Ottawa got in Division One where many of the clubs are hardly bigger than many of the clubs in the National Conference.
How the RFL, Leeds and St Helens can vote in favour of them being readmitted to Super League is beyond rational thinking, especially with the world wide situation of the pandemic.

They still didn’t win.
Ergo they don’t deserve any preference. When Melbourne were ‘de throned’ as NRL champions the runners up weren’t given the title.
You have to win it to be in it. They didn’t win. They’re not in it. And the sad sorry day Featherstone are brought into SL over Toronto will be yet another nail in RL’s coffin in the UK. |

SL are only going to decide in December and give reduced funding to whoever comes up.
What is the point? Self interested clubs once again. And we have the audacity to sit and call football clubs greedy

Bradford would be the biggest draw of all the names listed, but their off field issues of late must be a huge red flag. The last thing we need as a sport is another club in trouble which given reduced funding and no signs of any income may well happen. |
