| It was a bad call for Wakey and we definitely got away with one. Unrelated to today, Iv always thought it would be a good rule to change. Why not let the ball be tapped anywhere on the line to increase the chances of a line break?

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"Funny thing was though, did your fans even know that was the case until after the game when Chester pointed out?
Good eyes if the ones kicking off on the end terrace could see that. It clearly looks like an error on that picture but I’d probably question the horrible defence if I were Chester rather than doing the current go to trend of ‘it’s all the refs fault’. I sensed a few try’s may have been chalked off with a video ref today.'"
I was in the North Stand and it was blatant. Caused a significant level of booing and anger at the ref and rightly so.
I don’t blame Marshall but the ref should have make him retake it.
Marshall simply chanced his arm and got away with it.
He clearly took the tap opposite the massive gap rather than from the centre.

| I was in line with our first try and was amazed to see it given, enough evidence to show how poor refereeing standard has fallen
It's now wonder fans get frustrated

Fair enough, it’s clearly a poor call but the willingness in the game to pin results on the ref is pretty startling. As I’ve pointed out above there were a couple of other dubious try decisions today (possibly including Marshall’s first) and generally things even up over a game, season etc.
Over the course of the game I felt we were actually quite harshly dealt with but of course I’m biased. I certainly didn’t feel there was any need for some of the OTT reactions of Wakey fans as they were leaving the stadium.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"Just watched the try’s and I’m still to see evidence Wakey grounded the ball for first try (was convinced we’d kicked it dead at the ground) and BJB’s in the second half is so close as well.
Swings and roundabouts.'"
Exactly! Swings and roundabouts...suppose it’s a lot easier to slate the ref over the tap restart call than blame the poor defence or mention their first try looked dodgy and it evened itself out over the game.
The kicking off near the end when tommy got taken really high and we got the pen for it was so bizarre...got to be really bitter to give the ref a hard time over calls like that!

There was another one when Clubb went over and the in-goal judge indicated a try but the ref. said no try. The Marshall one from the tap was a wrong call I've seen a still shot of it but couldn't tell at the game, but Marshall deserves a bollocking for taking the longer route

| Quote King Street Cat="King Street Cat"It was so wide of the mark, I could see it from the North stand at the time. You expect an odd knock on to go for or against you when you're not on Sky, but that's just blatanat cheating from Marshall and incompetence from the ref. They both know where the mark is. Marshall just picked his easiest way through and the ref let him run.'"
Wind your neck in, you got a lucky try from a rebound and where the grounding was more than debatable plus a try from a blatant forward pass, but I suppose you didn’t see those.

| We scored off a knock on and tapping on the wrong mark. I think the Powell one was fine. One of Wakey's tries wasn't grounded IMO. Tangata wants a right b*locking for the 20m restart try. He's in a fine position to make the tackle, then we wouldn't be talking about it, but he's more bothered about complaining to the ref than simply tackling him.

| Looking at the try’s again I think there would’ve been a case to rule out both Marshall’s first and obviously third try’s. There’s also a strong case to say Wakey’s first should never be given, their second had a forward pass to Escare in the build up and their last try would’ve been interesting to see on Sky.
All in all I’d say about evens and a fair result.

I saw those, I also saw what looked to be a double movement at the end, but like I said, unless you're on Sky you're stuffed with the 50/50 knock-ons and forward passes, so you just get used to hoping they even themselves out over a game/season. But for a player to take a tap about 7 metres from the mark, and the ref to just let it go, despite being stood in line, is just shocking on both their parts. You wouldn't get that at an under 9s game, from player or ref.
