| We should enjoy tonight for what it was and that’s just getting the two points. Probably the poorest standard Leeds v Wigan game I can recall, with both of us being way off what we should be in terms of cap spend.

| Can't disagree with much that has been said, We beat a very ordinary Leeds side thanks to good goal-kicking and a real dig in defence, but our attack is still way off and, as I've said before, we are way too reliant 0n Williams or Gildart producing some thing out of nothing.

| I'm been banging the Sarge drum for a while & i had to laugh at some comments I've seen online of people questioning why he's in over Escare.
Sarge brings a Tomkins esq skill set to the team, which lets us go back to the shape / tactics that the guyd are comfortable with. I honestly think him being at FB could be the catalyst to freeing up out stuttering attack.
I'd bring ZH back into the side and on the wing.

| And that Clubb 'try' was a really terrible decision! OK, it didn't effect the result, but it was still very poor.

| I think we need to remember that we are a side lacking in confidence and looking over our shoulder. That can impact our fluidity in attack.
I think the Clubb try at the end will do us a world of good. The psychology of the win changed with that moment from one of relief that we managed to hang on to one of enjoyment of the win.
We have a long way to go but there’s a decent team in there somewhere.

| Just seen the Saints/Hudds highlights on SSN, my god Hudds left hand side was shocking, Makinson just scored a hat trick without getting his jersey dirty.
I know it always seems like a tough game at their place but there's two points going begging next week.

Seriously? I can only think of Gildart on current form who would get in the Saints team.

| Not getting too carried away. We were crying out for sammut in the last ten minutes IMO just to do some good clearing kicks. Poor long kicking game was inciting pressure. Great to win away from home but we need to improve.
Id stick sammut in the halves next week, Tommy to bench hooker. Greenwood to right back row and Isa to prop for Partington. And Hardaker to wing for Marshall.
Hankinson and Sarginson superb tonight. Sarge will go better linking into the attack after a proper weeks training.

| Would Justin Holbrook make a difference if he had our squad to work with?

Williams over one of Fages/Lomax and Burgess over Grace maybe? but other than that I’m not sure and I imagine saints fans probably would be happy keeping what they have but a lot can turn when a team is in form and I think on form our back row can more than match theirs. Similar with Hardaker over Coote even though I have been really impressed by Coote.

I think we may have lost had Sammut been introduced, his tackling is pretty ordinary and Leeds would have targeted that. It’s all in hindsight though. I do agree that our long kicking game was poor but that was mainly down to the pressure that Leeds put our kickers under. Leeds kickers had time to tie their laces as there was very little pressure placed on them. A wins a win though, like you say Sarginson (and I’m a critic of him) & Hankinson were superb tonight, in Hankinson have we found our new kicker?

I'm with the OP on this.
It's a cliché, but form is temporary. The majority of this team won a GF less than 12 months ago. We then lost 3 - 4 top players and that's taken us down a couple of levels. That suddenly doesn't mean the whole team is written off and we can't get back there if guys like Sam, Bateman & Sutton are adequately replaced. I'd go as far as to say if you put those three in this current side we'd easily be top three.

Steady Sir .
Statements like that are not conductive to the agendas we like to cultivate on this forum.
My large "Spoons"breckie with extra black pudding in Leeds City Centre this morning is going down rather well after last night . See you all in Huddersfield next week lol .
