Feka could, I'm sure, point to other players in the league with less impact, so how can you sack him for breach of contract unless his contract says he has to be under a certain weight or make a certain number of metres per game etc, which of course it won't.
If he stops turning up for training etc, sure. But I very much doubt he's as stupid as he is fat
You may be right. But I can't see too many pro sports clubs tolerating a well-paid player who simply refuses to get fit.

| Failure to follow an employer's reasonable instructions is a breach of contract. Repeated failure to do so will entitle to club to terminate his contract, provided the correct procedures are followed.
He can't simply refuse to lose weight when clearly he is overweight. Someone needs to tell him to shape up.
If BN isn't up to the job then he should resign now and make way for someone who has the determination to put Wigan back at the top of RL. To get there nothing less than 100% effort and a total unwillingness to compromise on standards will do.

As I said earlier i believe his "fitness" has improved of late he seemed to be capable of more minutes but his rugby specific conditioning in my opinion has payed the price.'"
To me he's overweight which equals unfit in my book. His lack of mobility due to his size is a huge problem at the minute aswell but if he sorted out his fitness his weight would come down surely therefore giving him more mobility?
I know some players can be huge and still be unbelievably fit. Craig Smith was a big guy but i believe his fitness was ledgendry whereas Feka is huge because he's fat and unfit and is blowing out of his backside at the minute.

Well said I remember one match where Craig Smith chased someone on a breakaway caught him and won the ball one on one, cannot remember who it was against but just goes to show you can still be big, fit and fast.

| you would think from a professional point of view, a player would sign a contract that would have clauses in it referring to performance which would obviously be linked to a responsibility to maintain the required levels of fitness to be able to compete. likewise the conditioner would have a writtten responsibility to achieve the required fitness levels of each player under his control. if the conditioner feels the player is not putting in the required effort to maintain those fitness levels, he should then report the player to his superiors, they then at the least should put the player into the reserves until he is prepared to meet the required fitness standards. unfortunately the people at this club seem loathe to drop anyone, apart from the local youngsters, even though every rugby league fan can see feka is miles away from where he should be regarding fitness. once again we have to question noble and lenegan on this matter.

Fielden may be terrible.
But Feka seems to be the real weak link. What's worse is that every team will have recognised Wires tactics at attacking Feka, to create the weak link, and unless he gets alot fitter, its going to be a huge problem for the playoffs.
Wasn't Feka like 2 stone lighter before he came to Wigan? I remember him to be quite fit before Wigan. Maybe the coach's need to get their @rses into gear and sort him out.

They only tend to get rid of them when they can find some schmuck of a club to take them off their hands though. How many clubs in any sport have got rid of plainly unfit players by sacking them?
The shenanigans it took Bradford to cancel Tupou's contract show that you can't just sack him. He's fit enough to take part in training, what little he does there is irrelevant in this respect.
