Quite right. I am aware of the rules. Perhaps wrong choice of words in the original post. By "don't see" I was more on about the lack of consistency. I think 2 or maybe more year bans should be set for other off field incidents.

Also apologies for the allegations in my first post (was still drunk this morning when I posted it - I stand by what I said but agree I shouldn't have posted it on a forum)

This may sound ridiculously stupid but in terms of the ban does it only involve sports with in the UK or world wide scale?

I don't support drug's in anyway. But reading the article it was 'Danielle' (Hock's GF) that has completely changed him over the past few months in a very good way, but a real shame recently one mistake has ruined it for him.

I do hope he will be back in the Wigan side in 2years time, I don't care what people think about that, he was possibly the best player at our club, lets just hope he keeps on top of his game, some way or another and is wiling to fight for that Cherry and White number 11 shirt once again!!

After reading the article from the OP, the sympathy I had for him originally has all but gone.

Basically, he takes it when he's drunk and around the wrong group of mates.

If he had any respect for himself, the fans and Wigan RL, he'd have got rid of those mates and if needed, got help for a drinking problem immediately.

That is so easy to type/write, but to do for real is a totally different story. It seems so easy.

Of course it is, but that doesn't make what Hock did anymore acceptable.

If he doesn't have the self control not to resist the temptation to take coke when around these mates, then he should leave them.

Similarly, if when he's drunk he finds himself taking drugs, then he should give up the drink.

He claims in the article that he woke up and regretted it the next morning etc., but clearly he didn't regret it enough.

Face is, it wasn't a 'one off'; he did it knowingly over a sustained period of time, and that is unacceptable.

So in one interview he claims hes not an addict and in the next states hes going for rehab

It's called denial..... like you would deny you are a wigan fan... But you are an addict... You DW...

We are all responsible for our own actions... We can't keep blaming other for our stupid actions... So please stop excuseing him... he has let me, as a Wigan fan down... and would happily tell him so....

Yes he has let the club,and the fans down, but who has he let down most his Family and HIMSELF and I don`think he needs you to tell him I think he knows that already. I don`t support drugs in any shape or form at least he didn`t hurt anyone physicallyGaz as been a fool and he will have two years to realise just how stupid he has been, but if he comes back clean and just as good if not better player I would applude him again in a Wigan shirt.

P.S We all make mistakes.

Yes we do, but many who do are not in the same fortunate position as Mr Hock.... Many pay a much higher price... I don't think people here would take the same view of some poor sod in the street... Mr Hock was in a privilaged position... Sorry but i find it hard to be sympathetic...
