I dont buy into this ,chase wont fit into our systems bullox, Chase is an off the cuff player much the way that sam is. I am sure after a full pre season the team will guide him to how we want to play. As for matty smith i always thought he had something about him , if we have signed him i hope he shows his worth. There are a lot worse half back pairings out there than chase and smith.

The more I think about this, the more it reminds me of the fuss when it was announced that Wigan would be signing Brett Kenny as that meant former incumbent in the no. 6 shirt, Mark Cannon, might be dropped.

I'm not for one moment saying that Chase is another Brett Kenny - not be any stretch of the imagination - but he's probably one of the best options available in the UK at present (if not the only one) and people looking for reasons why we shouldn't sign him are making a big mistake IMO.

Though in retrospect it seems ridiculous, some folk were genuinely peeved about Kenny coming because of Mark (who? - exactly) Cannon. With Chase it's for equally spurious reasons.

Aside from one moment of thuggery and a completely unjust Man of Steel award - which rumour has it was mainly to do with the Leeds and Warrington players - he's a very decent player, who could be made even better once he comes under Shaun Wane's discipline.

Laughing at some of the posters suggesting Chase isn't good enough and we don't need him



He's the best 6 in SL, we aint going to get Soward or anyone else of Wigan standard from the NRL, he's young, he's 'english', he can tackle and is the reigning Man Of Steel.

There's no pleasing some people.

Get him signed up IL, even if it's more than £350,000, maybe add a bit more and get Clark also and loan them a few youngsters in the next few seasons aswell.

If we sign Chase I will be chuffed.

Technically Finch is a traditional 7 and he won't be here next season, Chase will be the best 6 in the league next year was more my point.

Now Finch at 7 and Chase at 6 would have been nice.

I would be astounded if we actually paid a £100,000 fee for Chase
imo he's a one trick pony and an expensive one too
IF we cant sign a decent 6 for next season i would rather have Lockers at 6 rather than Chase

Of course Dobson would love to leave HKR and play for you, it goes without saying

If Lockers plays 6 and Chase signs for Wire I don't see us winning anything next year, whereas I could see Wire winning trophies.

£350k for a player that could be with us for 5-6 years is not that bad. He could be the new Tommy.

Could be a good deal. Let's wait & see.

I'd be happy with Smith & Chase as our halves next year.
