| Cheering when one of your players goes down injured is about as small time as it gets.
It should be the management who get the brunt of the abuse for signing a player who is finished as a rugby league player.

Congratulations, your average is finally coming down. Out of a total of 27 posts, that's only your 15th on the Wigan board.
At this rate, you'll soon be posting on your own club's board.

| Quote: DaveO "People need to understand the difference between expressing an opinion after the match in the pub or on a message board to what goes on while a match is in progress.
I don't know about anyone else who posts on here but when a match is on whoever is on the pitch gets my support whether I rate them or not. Whatever anyone else does is up to them.
After the match I was always under the impression the pub or a place like this was where fans dissected the game, the players performance and whatever the coach did or did not do. People will disagree and will rate players and coach differently.
It is not sacrilege to say a player had a bad game when they did. Nor is it to disagree with anyone's point of view about that provided personal or snide comments get left out.
What really is not acceptable IMO is the implied censorship that people really had better not say anything negative about any player or the coach in case they get upset. Does anyone really think the small number of regular posters on here is that influential?
Any player with half a brain would not go near this place.
This season I have seen negative comments about every single player in our side bar none. Including S Tomkins who was apparently selfish v Les Cats.
Does that mean we should adopt the approach of the sun shines out of their backsides? Of course not.
As to the game I defy anyone on here not to groan when a player makes a mistake. It's a natural reaction but it does not imply derision for the player and is more to do with disappoitment at what just happened.
I didn't hear it but apparently Goulding got some stick from people chanting in the east stand "traitor" and "Saltford reject".
If it happened then that [iis[/i IMO unnaccaptable but after the match on here the people are entitled to their opinion and people should respect it.
If they don't then they can go somewhere else. That is a hint by the way for those who do not (not you AJ, I just hijacked you post to make a point!).
Dave'"
I fully agree with that, but those same people need to understand the difference between a groan or curse when a player say knocks on right after a penalty and booing a player as soon as he comes on because his face doesnt fit. The idiots who sit right in front of me are the perfect example, it was Mathers, now occasionaly Phelps/Roberts and definetly Pryce.

| I really cannot ever see the point of booing anyone who pulls on a wigan shirt, they all hopefully, want the same thing.
However with regards to Pryce, he just comes across as lazy!
There is nothing he can do to change this, as that is just how he looks.
Lets face it friday night he came on, walked the ball into a tackle, stayed down and walked straight back off, never to be seen again.
I dont condone the booing or cheering when he stayed down, but for a lot of older fans, that is unacceptable. They remember edwards playing with half a face broken, or Bell with a head full of stitches!
To see this 'effort' from him is not going to endear him to a lot of people!
He has all the attributes except one, and the one he dont have is the one you need the most in our game!

Sadly this is all too common on the Wigan board, "Random Male" is part of a growing trend - people who are bored by their own clubs and find talking about the greatest club in the world more interesting than their own.
I'm now starting to see this as a compliment. Its an annoyance at times because, sadly, the quality of posts from our friends from other clubs is often low, but at the end of the day as Wigan fans we just need to live with the fact that people will always want to talk more about our club than any other.

the lad never got a chance. he got the ball 4 or 5 times, all given to him when he was stood still with oppos within 5m of him and the crowd booing him before he received the ball.
Whist I'm not sure he will ever make it as a wigan player, us fans need to give him and all players the support they need.

everyone goes on about hes a big lad, give him time to settle in, hes been here 18 months now, hes on a good wager,
the only game he has ever finnished for the first time was quins last week, he is absolutly terrified, how he got injured the other night i dont know, he got booed off the fans (i wouldnt boo anyone and i never will), but he must be the biggest waste of money or time we have had at this club, could someone please tell me where his future lies, as in position, or club

He's young, and he was a good player at Bradford. He got thrown in at the deep end on friday and I think it was a massive risk. I don't think settling in is an issue, he looks to have settled well, give the lad time. It's not like he's on a massive wage.
Bottom line is he's a gamble, if it pays off then awesome, if not then it was worth a go.

I'm interested to know why you need to start yet another thread about Karl Pryce when there's already a 5-pager about this same subject a few entries down on the list.

| It's time to end the Karl Pryce experiment.
It was a worthwhile gamble, but it's gone on long enough.

| its just like everyone getting on tim smiths back all that time and when hes injured we miss him,
People on this forum never stop banging on about getting young lads through the reserves, if so why do we buy a complete waste of a player when we could use flannagan, mossop, farrell, davies, they could all do better jobs

has it? Hes barely played...
It was a terrible decision to play him at 6 and I for one felt sorry for him. I think the coaching staff need to get him out on loan to a NL1 club to get some match fitness and gametime then have another look at him next season.

Apart from the fact you have chose four forwards.
Pryce is the top scorer in the reserves, why have those four not managed that?
Pryce, let him get a proper pre-season in and give him another season to show what he capable of. If he doesn't do it hen wish him well and say goodbye. He's still only 22 years of age.
