Depends on the test.
Use the hair follicle test and any residue will be visible for as long as the hair has been growing - Weeks or even months.
Yes, you can "beat" the test with a special shampoo, but that will only cover your tracks for 8 hours.
Therefore, you get them all in early one morning, then do your training, have lunch, have an extra training/swimming/weights session in the afternoon, and after 9 to 10 hours, you test them.
For those that shave their heads (whether to get around the test or not), pubes, leg-hairs, moustaches all carry the same results.
Intrusive - Maybe
Necessary - Definitely
Lenagan should make this happen, as the ONLY players that would not want to be tested are those with something to hide.
If the players have any integrity as a group, they should offer to be tested in this way, to prove that they have nothing to hide.

Any other player found to be guilty should be shown the door. This is not an isolated incident in my opinion. |
