| Quote: MattyB "Whilst you are correct the hard part is convincing either company to shell out a six figure sum for a twelve month deal. By the way I'm not sure what the 'going rate' is for a Main Shirt Sponsor for a top SL club per annum but it won't be pennies.'"
For a club Wigan's size it should be in the £400k a year region. But I bet it isn't, even when the sponsor pays up.

They now have to negotiate a deal very late in the day to a company that will know that a lot of fans will have already bought shirts and thus reducing the reach and advertising from the deal so reducing the worth of the deal on their side.'"
I don't think a sponsor will be too worried that some fans won't have the logo on the shirt, the main attraction is the players on the pitch when being televised, that is where the main sponsorship attraction will be.

Sleeve sponsor but I believe they disappeared mid-season? Perhaps payment related but I don't know.

Why do you "Bet it isn't" ???
Noticed on numerous other threads on the Leeds Board/VT & here that you seem to love to have a dig at Wigan, their commercial record, put them down a bit when the opportunity arises?
Vaguely remember you using words along the lines of you disliked anything Wigan on a thread on the Leeds board a year or so ago and remember at the time thinking that for such a rational person I perceive you to be from your posts on may other subjects and the on The Sin Bin, it seemed to be an irrational/Biased position to take.
PS
You're not the only one when it comes to all things Wigan

You'll struggle to find such a thing, certainly not seriously.
But what I despair about is how badly Wigan, one of our leading clubs, are run. Almost everything I see from senior management or hear from people in the game about them or witness with my own eyes reinforces the impression that they are drifting along without a firm grip on how to get the crowds and sponsors and prestige back.
Lenegan has become almost a comedy figure, certainly one it's increasingly hard to take seriously (just witness his latest car crash interview). I've not seen much of Radlinski meanwhile to suggest he has the skills to be running such a big organisation.

I would argue there is lots of good things being organised by the club at the moment.
The Media Day, link below where Wigan invited all RL media folks to a fully open, behind the scenes look on how the club is currently operating.
https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/ru ... 884071.amp
The club also recently respectfully interviewed Warrington player Stefan Ratchford, honouring his career and plugging his upcoming testimonial season, they didn't need to do that.
https://wiganwarriors.com/blog/2022/01/ ... ratchford/
Other things such as the Sinfield/Burrows poster hung up at Robin Park Arena.
Recently invited legendary players Henderson Gill and Andy Gregory to the Arena with many more events planned this season.
I'd say our club is being run just fine. The loss of a sponsor is out of the clubs control and is pure bad luck, but also an opportunity for a suitable replacement to be found.

| Been in the club shop for the first time today since the new gear. Parted with £100 plus on gear for my 5 year old. Quality kit, and it looks the part too…very modern/smart designs complimented superbly by the new badge. I wasn’t anti new badge by any stretch, but have a new appreciation as to why and applaud them on the way it’s been incorporated.

| New sponsor to be announced before Fridays game, has anybody heard the rumour about this announcement being announced? Heard from a mate in Whelley that it could be Chicken Cottage
