Cancel that HKR play Cas next week so we'll probably scrape in whatever

| Quote: Cruncher "Wigan just don't look like a team who do any attack work in training.
It's bewildering how average they are with ball in hand, especially given what a lethal presence Lammy was when he was on the field.
It's almost as if the Hail Mary Ball is now deemed a viable part of our attacking repertoire. Or perhaps the ONLY part.
I loved Lammy the player, but I'm really glad he's leaving the coaching role. This team look so undrilled in attack that it's untrue.'"
That’s probably a big part of the problem, we don’t. The past 2 1/2 months we’ve played pretty much every 5 days. Between games that’s 1 day rehab, 1 day rest, 1 day fitness and video and 1 day training. Not enough.
I actually feel a little bit positive after that. We now have a whole week between games to try and fix things up in training. We weren’t outplayed and have them as few chances as they gave us. Discipline and error count was much improved. Taken back to the bare bones we were beaten by the bounce of the ball off a skewed kick.

| Turns out we lost a sub as Joe Bullock came in on the bench late. Gildart's replacement needed to go straight into the starting line up apparently. Bizarre rule.

| Kev Brown made an interesting point in studio about Hastings and our attack. He said he felt Hastings was one of the best halves in the world but said he is so competitive and demanding that if anything, he’s getting his hands on the ball too often and is fatigued because he’s willing to do the donkey work of carting the ball in. He said Smith and Hardaker need to demand more ball and ease the burden on Hastings. I thought it was an excellent point.

I’d wholeheartedly agree with that. Said the same to a Leeds fan who was sat next to me.

| Hardaker again showing he’s brilliant in our half but has no impact whatsoever on our attack inside our opponents red zone.

How many nothing lob kicks to Hallsall/Bibby side did we do?
Just embarrassing today, can’t wait for the year to be over.

There's no doubt that opening try was ridiculously fortuitous for Warrington, but we didn't make enough chances of our own. How often were we actually in the sort of attacking position that saw Havard stroll in?
Can't have been more than a couple the whole match.

His kicking is the worst I’ve ever seen. At times appalling at others as predictable as time itself.Predicable and consistently poor in the extreme. In 2 years has anything ever come off one of his kicks? For a “world class” player a major part of a prerequisite for the role is non existent therefore, I class him as as hard working but uninspiring. If he’s still playing to the coaches instructions then it’s even worse.
Without him we are in Leigh’s sphere but we need to get used to it. That’s how bad we are.
Smith needs to grow a pair and tell him to do one and demand as much of the ball that Hastings does.
Smith may not make it but if I’m him at least I’d have a dig.
Difficult in the extreme for a young lad but he needs to make his stamp or he’ll probably never recover
2 games Smithy to tell Lam to go and shoite and Hastings to acknowledge that you are as important as he is.
Have you got a pair Smithy???

Tell you what mate, I'm not happy with how things are at the min, but I'm not sure how you can even seriously say we're at the level of Leigh.
It really isn't that bad.

So just start with Bullock, with that squad there was no option but to put Farrell/Bateman in the centre, Smithies goes to 2nd row and Bullock starts at 13 or swaps with Partington, chucking an interchange away was dumb

Why am I not surprised we don’t fully know the rules we are playing under? Just another thing to add a long list of cock-ups from the club this year.

| Sick to death of the post game post-mortem. Same comments time and time again and time and time again they’re accurate as they are harsh.
Considering that was supposedly two of the top Super League teams it was a drab affair. Neither could attack for toffee and both teams look in dire need of a coaching change ASAP.
Concentrating on us; we weren’t as good as we were v Cas clearly. We showed a complete lack of basic rugby knowledge and other than Harvard’s try we never looked like scoring or any viable threat to Warrington’s line so in that sense they didn’t need to be any good. NK raised it earlier but Kev Brown’s comments were spot on, Hastings does too much and tires himself out to the point he becomes a mere passenger. If other players had half his will and desire he wouldn’t need to do that amount of drives and actually get on with what he’s meant to be doing.
Shorrocks at hooker and Powell on the bench was criminal. If Powell wasn’t fit to start bring in O’Neill and f**k Bullock off to the nearest willing amateur club. I like Shorrocks but he’s never a 9 in the memory of man, he’d be a decent back rower/13 for me. Whether that’s at Wigan I don’t know.
Smith was anonymous and some of his kicks were awful. I’ve said it before and I still believe it now but he looks lost and out of confidence. He needs a good coach as much as the club does. I still believe he’ll come good for us.
On the plus side I thought Singleton went well again and Bibby showed why he was signed (and continues to prove me wrong). Bateman looked like he’s improving but still nowhere near where he should be. Zak was superb IMO and if he does leave it would be a hammer blow to this side. Havard took his try well and played okay. Powell got himself about but clearly isn’t at his full powers.
Individually there were some good performances but as a team it was poor. We play as a team of individuals playing for himself rather than a team of individuals playing for his team mates. I can’t wait for this season to be over. This pre season coming up needs to be as fundamentally changing for Wigan as Michael Maguires first pre season was.

I’m not a stats guy SP but how many tries have Leyth scored compared us this season?
What other team plays worse rugby than we do ?
I think Leyth have won the same number of games that we have in their last 6 games or so therefore, on form we equal Leyth.
I watch us and the only team that I feel we might beat is Leyth.
I love a bet SP so I’ll triple whatever Paddy Power quotes for us next season for us to win the GF to go to any charity or if you like your bank account. At a push I’ll give you four times the odds. If Peet gets the nod I’ll give you five times the odds.
We are awful.
So slow we would embarrass an half decent amatuer team.
No leaders. Not one. I included Farrell and Bateman in that synopsis. Both of them this season of been vacant. Bateman has been useless ( I’d argue he hasn’t been that good) let’s not pretend otherwise.
Robotic stereotype “middles”. God how I hate that “term”
I’ve got more more get up and at 64 than virtually all of the team. We are slow, slow slow, slow.
We never, not occasionally, start a game well. We play “within” ourselves.
I don’t blame just Lam I blame overrated and by default overpaid players.
We reek of mediocrity on and off the field.
Yeah I’d rank us with Leyth
