| That was dreadful.
How many sets we had on their line and never looked like scoring.
Our first try had a forward pass in there and should have been disallowed.
HKR dropped enough ball in the first half for a top team to have the game won after 40 mins. We were 6-0 down to 12 men.
Lam has to go, simple as that!

| Quote: NSW "Actually can’t believe some of the comments on here.
Didn’t think we we’re that bad??
I rank it in one of worst performances I’ve seen in the last 10 years.
None existent Line speed. They were walking on us every set. Even after there second try (when you expect a response from us defensively) they waltz 60m with ease.
Clueless attack. Genuinely unsure what they are trying to achieve.
As usual no offloads or second phase until it was too late.
Wasn’t Hull KR missing there main man Abdul? And had a second rower and a young kid in the halves. Credit to them.
For me it was a very similar to the Catalan performance only we weren’t up against a red hot, more talented team.
What’s more concerning is this is our first choice pack (bar 10 minute Tony).
It’s been the same all season though, these last two games having been “out the blue”.
It’s not one of these, low energy performances against a lower table team either. We had all the motivation in the world after the embarrassment in France. And obviously back in front of the fans.
KPP two outstanding offloads were the only bright spot.
Dreadful. Need to put a statement out soon saying Lam won’t be retained as head coach.
Finished I stayed in and watched the 0-0.'"
I have just got back after a nightmare journey home due the junction on the M6 being shut. My son came over from Leeds to watch this as well and I only just got jim back to to Newton-le-willows to catch his train. He ain't a happy bunny watching that garbage.
As you say I have no idea why anyone can say they didn't think we were bad. Defensively we just let them have a go. No speed off the line. Never got in their faces. My sons amatuer team seem better coached than Wigan. He was saying if his lot weren't taking two paces forward the second the ball moved they'd get dropped! Our lot were stood still.
The attack was garbage and Powell? My God has there been a worse 9 at Wigan since the 80's? Can't direct the forwards to save his life and telegraphs everything he does. With him it goes like this 9 times out of 10:
Step 1. Plant feet
Step 2. Make a sorry and slow attempt at a dummy to the left.
Step 3 Pass the ball to the right.
This all happens in slow motion so the opposite are up before he gets to step 3. If anyone doesn't believe me I suggest you watch him in the next game and keep a count of how many times he does this.

| Losing 48-0 at Catalans and following it up with that says it all really. I’m bored of watching us under Lam. The players look bored, they look lost and as though they have no idea of what they’re meant to be doing. I’ve seen some unbelievable teams in my time watching Wigan but I’ve also seen some really poor teams and on a pound for pound basis, looking at expectation against reality, this team is right down there. It’s always made harder by a coach who promises the world, yet delivers next to nothing.
Roll on 2022.

I've said on so many threads and in so many different chats both on and off line that as much as I didn't like Wane amd his style of play (I told him to his face) we won trophies.
A few questions......
Do you believe a SW coached side would lose to St Helens in a semi final (or any game) by 30 points?
Do you think a SW coached side would lose a semi final AT HOME to anyone by 20 points let alone Salford?.
Do you think a SW coached side would be 0/5 in terns of trophies won?
I don't know if SW is the right man, but I know for a fact that Adrian Lam most definitely isn't!!!!!!
We need a 2010 style clear out and that includes off the field.

I’m a sad act for wanting to win trophies and I don’t care how we come about them, so if the style of play isn’t great but you win, then I can take that. The real no no comes when your style of play is poor and you don’t win trophies and Lam has that off to an art. We’re the KFC era Saints side. We’re dull, we’ve lost our edge and we have a coach who looks lost and as though he has no idea how to turn it around. I’ve said I’m happy to have Waney back but that was as a head man and it sounds like that won’t be the case. If it isn’t then we need to look for the next Maguire or Holbrook because half ar*ed measures won’t cut it.

One hundred and fifty percent.
I will take dull rugby and a trophy over Cas 2017, Wire 2011, Saints 2018 as I have said time and time again.
We are Wigan....we win trophies!!!!

You’re right and I agree with you but I can’t see how we can’t/won’t produce a good brand of rugby with the players we have at our disposal [icurrently [/i. If Lam was any good that’d be what would be happening.

| If something isn’t done about the coaching set up soon , I for one will not be renewing my season ticket.I have better things to do than to be sat in a soulless stadium on a Friday night bored s**tless. And I won’t be the only one. The clock is ticking Mr Lenegan , sort this mess out before it’s too late

Things are looking bad when we are putting all of our hopes on the return of a past coach. In the current market the players that we need are just not available or do not want to play for us. This situation has not happened over night and will not be reversed overnight. As a result we are likely to miss out on more top class players and, instead have to go through a few seasons of improvement. The other option is to sign Warrington's accountant.

| Under Wane we weren't the most exciting attacking team in the League, but we had the best defence.
Lam comes in and over promises "you will see a much more open attack that will excite the fans". Not only have we not seen this (apart from a few magical moments last year with French & Marshall) we have seen our defence crumble.
Even after a poor first hour last night at 8-12 down with 10 minutes left on the clock we should have turned the screw and taken the game. Instead we allow Hull KR to go the other end and score and end the game.
I don't think Lam will be sacked, as I've said before IL doesn't sack coaches. But I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if he gives him a contract extension.

We dropped the ball in 1st tackle at a number of sets after HKR errors

Lenaghans lack of proactivity will burn us good and proper. It’s clear to us fans, couldn’t be much clearer to the players and it has to be clear to IL&KR that Lam isn’t good enough and won’t take this club forward, in fact I’d argue he’s taken it backwards the whole time he’s been here.
A “we’ll part ways at seasons end” isn’t good enough. He needs to go now and maybe we’ll have a chance of lifting the SL trophy.
