| Obviously if the injuries don't occur we win easily but we should have dealt with them better.
Reckless tackling technique is costing us players time and time again.
We're so much smaller than the other teams in this league its scary. We identified it as a problem in 2013 and haven't done enough to sort it out.

Would we have won? Who knows.

I just thought it was awful defence with a non existent cohesion. Very disappointing but not overly surprised

Pretty much.
You can't lose three players during a match when you're already devastated by injuries and expect a result.
Our forwards were bossed all game, but Sammut going off was the turning point. We're going to miss him massively if it's a serious injury as we don't have anyone else to lead us around the park.

Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. We already know Leuluai is crap at 7.

We are not missing Powell or Hamlin. The former is rubbish and the latter just sacked himself, he's an ex Wigan player. Sammut and Greenwood, yes a loss but losing a lead like that is down to poor game management and poor defence. Had a few of those kicks gone over that might have changed the complexion of the game but this is still a bad loss.

Your opinion on Powell is just that and re Hamlin, self inflicted or not his sudden departure is a loss to the team until such time as he is replaced.

Maybe but so was Shorrocks.
Shorrocks however has looked much sharper around the ruck, especially off the bench against big men.

Nah, He's right, Mr Slow Powell is never a loss in the team and Hamlin wasn't a first-team regular!!
As for Clubb..seriously..he's been pap for years
Farrell is too small for international RL as is Flower, however, both have been good players for Wigan.
Terrible to see Sammut and Dom getting injured.
We have top backs and a really poor pack, and that is not blaming the younger lads that played today, Morgan was outstanding, best of the youngsters.
Defence, especially on the line, was amateur standard.

My opinion re Powell is not just a random thought. It's based on watching him play and noting he has no pace and can't pass for toffee. He's the most feeble no. 9 in the league. All he does is take up salary cap space. As to Hamlin, as Ziggy pointed out he was not a first team regular anyway. I doubt even if he had been available for selection, given the pint sized forward that he is, it would not have helped.
He's not the issue anyway. It's the senior forwards. Clubb, Flower and Lockers appear to be part timers due to being injury prone. Regardless of how good they are or not, if they are not on the pitch we are left with what? Kids.
Our recruitment and succession planning is rubbish.

Your last sentence is spot on. However, the squad you so readily denigrate did ok last season. I’m no major fan of Hamlin but him and the others you mention are better than the kids. Just one or two of the senior players being available and avoiding tonight’s injury calamity and we would have prevailed. However, I suspect such an outcome wouldn’t have played to your agenda.

Please tell me what my agenda is. I'd love to know,
The point I was trying to make re this game is twofold. First you are clutching at straws to suggest the absence of Powell and Hamlin was relevant. Second, despite the fact we won SL last season, our forwards who helped us do that look shadows of their former selves in that they are suddenly injury prone so were not playing.

We all know your agenda Dave. I also know you’ll be at this all night if I’m daft enough. I’m not. Have the last word. Goodnight.
