What did they say? From what I've seen of him I don't think he's a 6 or 7 in a million years.

It was along the lines of how difficult is the move from FB to HB. They asked also about splitting the halves which both disagreed with. Lockyer confirmed it was easier (but still tough) for him to move up aged 26 but with the same team, whereas Milford was doing it much younger in an unfamiliar one.

| I've enjoyed pointing out to NZ Warriors fans on the NRL forum I post on that Joel Moon looks a better player for Leeds than he ever did for the Warriors! I never thought he was all that in the NRL, but I reckon some Aussies thrive in the rather more attacking style of the SL compared to the NRL. I'd cite Luke Walsh as another example.
I never thought Briscoe was all that at Hull either, but, to be fair, he's looked pretty impressive since he's been at the Rhinos.

To be fair Milford hardly touched the ball Souths were so dominant. So it would be difficult to judge him.
It's just possible that great though Johns and Lockyer were, Wayne Bennett knows a thing or two more about coaching!!!!

Haha. Very good point!
I wonder if Greg will get a game? Remember when Eddie called him the new Billy Slater?

It was Nathan Brown (Eden's coach at the time) who said that. By the end of that same season IIRC Eden had fallen out of the side and was shipped out of Huddersfield and joined Hull KR.

| There was a story in the Aussie press after Brisbane's first day of pre season saying Eden had come dead last in the fitness tests. Out of all the props and including big backrowers like Thaiday the guy was the most unfit and was really struggling to get through it.
Strikes me as a lad who let hype get to his head! The fact that Sam Tomkins was always the opposite set him apart from guys like Eastmond, Myler and latterly people like Eden.

Whilst I think Friday's performance against Cas was nothing short of appalling I'm not going to hit the panic button just yet, in the words of Nobby they'll have to put 'humpty dumpty back together again'.
Watching the NRL start this week made me realise how many ex-Wigan players are running around that competition, I've seen Leuluai and Hoffman carry the Warriors at Newcastle, Richards drop a last minute goal to win for the Tigers at Gold Coast and Green play at 6 for Melbourne, our favourite son ST didn't feature due to tight hamstrings and everything Madge touches turns to gold at the moment...even Pettybourne looked half decent. Furthermore you can consider the players that aren't running around and are either working behind the scenes in the NRL or in the media - Carmont, Finch, Riddell.
The point is this, look at our line ups for the last two GF wins and the CC win in 2010, 2011 and 2013:

We have lost an awful lot of talent over the last five years and some of it is making strides in the NRL, what have we replaced them with? - Some will point out the salary cap is to blame and to some extent they would be correct as the player drain continues from SL to the NRL.
Whilst its nice to see the conveyor belt of young talent coming through our ranks...before it heads to the bright lights of the NRL (Burgess) we have shifted from attracting experienced talent to big fish in little ponds, unproven overseas recruits and players returning from RU.
Compound this with an inability to close out games at present, the loss of several forwards in the off season, poor recruitment policies and Mr Pewterschmidt cutting every possible corner to increase profits it's been starting to unravel.
I hope it starts to come together and SW turns it around, as people have pointed out Flower and Mossop will be welcome returns and Bateman is exceptional. However, Williams is inexperienced at 6, Farrell is giving away far too many penalities and Gelling is becoming our Francis Meli i.e. a liability.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

So Aussies and NZer's have gone home when there is MUCH more money on the table in the NRL... It's really not rocket science... Too many of us are living in the past, and should realise it's the lack of money in SL is doing the damage.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

Actually that was in mid 30's and high humidity and he struggled liked most people would on their first day if you had just come over from the UK. He wasn't unfit, he just struggled with the conditions. Hardly surprising.

It must have been a lazy piece of journalism by an Aussie bagging a Pom then.
Even less surprising.
