The Monorail closed a few months ago after running since 1988. My wife's company built and ran it for several years before selling it on. My wife organised the inaugural run and I was on it - we rode free on it until it was sold.

Does anyone know anything about Cheryl. Have been in contact with her and am seriously considering booking but £3k is a lot of money to hand over to someone when all you've got is a name and phone number. Any info would be gratefully received.

It would if it was still there, lol. It stopped a few months ago and they are in the process of tearing it down now. But as far as meet ups go Darling harbor would be good. Decent bars and plenty of outdoor areas. Great if there are plenty of Wigan fans coming down. Cant wait to get tickets on Monday, just $18 for the Chookpen. Still don't know which shirt I Will be wearing.

Its not that bad, but everywhere will be expensive when compared to prices in Wigan. If you pay $10 you would expect a pint. I think anyone who comes down will just have to get use to the fact that Sydney is expensive but you cant compare prices between a town in the north of England to a major world city in Australia. At least compare prices from London.

Haha it has bee a few years since I was last there? What was the reason for getting rid of it? I thought the monorail was a great way to get to certain places in Sydney, it was fairly limited to where you could go but I thought it served a good enough purpose.
