Quote: Pemps "Surely you can't pick up a ban for attempted foul play? A player wouldn't get a ban for missing with a high shot or a trip.'"

Whether he receives a ban or not it needs looking at by the RfL- it wasn't a single incident-it was clearly a dirty tactic by the player and it stinks!

Quite agree. It's a horrible thing to do to a defenceless player on the floor but because there was no contact and no foul play he surely can't be charged with anything?

A letter advising him to cool his jets a little may be what's in order.

I just think at the time (watching live on TV) Eric thought he had been either fouled or whatever and in a fit of temper he stamped hard on the floor, no body rushed in complaining and the Ref said nothing.
It was only later that the Sky Numpties got on the case and it was highlighted whilst the match was still running (comments at the time went something on the lines of, "surly they will have to look at this".

Sky must have an anti Wigan gopher nit picking the match to find anything or fabricate anything untoward.

Have to disagree - had that been an opposition player I would of been fuming - in fact I was fuming when Eric did it, not only because it was highly dangerous but because it was highly stupid and dumb.

Eric got lucky because he did not connect but imo the intent was there and the brains went awol.

Whilst I want our players to be aggressive I don't want them to be stupid and there are a number of player's that need to use their brains.

This is an attempt to try and justify a cowardly act, it wasn't just that once, he attempted it more than once in the game - the sky team didnt mention the one at 32 minutes which was clearly spotted by the camera. I've not watched the entire game back as yet but that one was mentioned on our board and I've seen it.

Poor signing, and has been poor during his stay here, but he was poor at Hull also, worrying that we signed him in the first place, must have been cheap.

From where I was sitting in the SS it was a definite attempted stamp. If he gets a ban you won't find me arguing against it.

No doubt it was a stamp and clearly deliberate.

What is most concerning (as well as the intent to injure somebody) is the lack of control in a big game and Eric is not the only one either. I have never viewed Eric as a dirty player but this kind of thing is hard to defend and he was just very lucky that he did not connect because he clearly meant to do.

I think that he was frustrated but when you play good teams like Huddersfield, Leeds and Warrington then there are going to be periods when you are put under pressure and I think there have been times this season when some of our players have not coped very well with it.

Do that in a final or play-off game and it could result in a red card or worse still with a player being seriously injured.

That's how it is beginning to look like as he is no worse than certain other players like Green, Dudson, Mossop at the moment

I've not seen it but I'm kind of glad its happened in a way. I thought he was getting his brain in gear this season but obviously not and is rather him do that now then at Wembley, it get seen and him be sent off.

I'd have picked him up until that but its a wake up call and ban or no ban he shouldn't be in the side now.

That's presuming it's as poor as people are suggesting.

He looks unfit, and hasn't been blessed with his injury status. He's a liability in defence at times, he'll get targeted too later in the games. I dread to think what Burrow would do to him if we get them in the play-offs. He looks to of given up at times.

Quote: Wigan Peer "Lauaki's problem is that he did not come with a good reputation, many were critical of the signing, and he has not produced the goods... But it's equally accurate to say that Mossop has been less than convincing ...'"

His main problem is he's not very good at rugby!
