| Quote: Conroy "And why are they not the World Club Champions or Super League Champions? Like it or not they won the games required to be called said names. If a team finishes 6th in the Championship and wins the playoffs to be promoted are they unable to call themselves a Premier League team because they didnt finish 3rd?
The system might be crap or flawed or a joke, whatever....but the facts are that Leeds are the Champions and they are also the World Club Champions.'"
I agree (agreeing with Conroy, God my standards are slipping ), at the start of the season we all know the criteria to become 'Champions', Leeds met them last time, we hope to this year.

Most sensible post on here. We will wait and see if Wigan win the final (If they get to it) and walk past the cup, and if this board does not put 2012 Superleague champions on its banner.
To become champions you have to finish in the top 8 and get a bit of luck of the draw, a few good calls, and make it to the final game and win... it's as simple as that!
Yes, the overall champion should be the team who finishes first, but they aren't.
Yes, All referees should have good games, But they don't.
Yes, the judicary panel should make the right calls all the time, but they don't.
And yes, you should all stop moaning about what might be and what won't be and what should be... but you won't

Referees could make a mistake they make a decision from an angle with under a second to see it an make their minds on it. They do get it wrong quite often but most referees get a lot more right than wrong. When you only get 1 shot at seeing something then you can make the wrong decision thats human nature. But the panel can watch it 100's of times get reports from players, ref, touch judges etc and then evaluate it over a minimum of 24-36 hours before it goes to a disciplinary. For them to get it wrong is shocking especially on a player who had a ban this season.
The panel for me is the most corrupt and influenced part of the game. They should never get it wrong everyone can see that McGuire should have had a 2 match given that he already served a suspension and pleaded not guilty to an obvious guilty charge. His record is not that fantastic and is one of the players banned this season. That should have been used as well and he should have served 2 games. If that was Burrows or anyother player not on a ban this season fair enough but previous history must be looked at as well. They did with MM but not with others. An obvious sign for me that either they are corrupt or have no idea of whats going on.

I do agree with you, but we get back on topic again and look at all previous situations where there has been blatent disregard for many offences, Being a Leeds fan I will bring up Ablett being punched in the CC Final? not a sending off offence, but a bannable one.
McGuire would of got a two game ban, IF Wane and Tomkins kept shut. A Corrupt panel doesn't like been told what they should do. McGuire WILL get a two game ban if he appeals. The panel are not more lenient on any certain team, they just don't have a system, everything now seems to be a grade B offence, so surely the punishment should be the same for a same grade offence.. The problem is they don't have a system.
And referees do have more than 1 shot, hence having lines men and a third referee, they just don't utilize each other.

This is where people really see it differently as it depend which club you support.
For me if Wane kept his mouth shout then McGuire would have played on friday.
If McDermott had kept shut he would have got a 2 match ban.
Now who was right in going to the media and bleating about it. For me both technically got it wrong but the RFL for me is corrupt so Wane had to shout out about whilst whilst McDermott had to defend the player. Only way to stop that is to bring both coaches and Tomkins to book about it but the RFL will run a mile before doing anything about it. Unless the RFL becomes transparent and open no one can real know what goes on.
Either way it has to change but at the rate the RFL go about changing Widnes will have been SL champions.

I still think the right thing has been done and do agree with you, WE are lucky it was just a one game ban, but the thing that bothers me about this whole situation is (as I have posted on the leeds board) wigan AND leeds fans are taking as if McGuire is our only player. Ward is the natural replacement, he is young, and will have something to proove, don't get me wrong, I want Leeds to win, My heart does, but my head is thinking different. But just because McGuire isn't playing, doesn't mean Leeds won't win, And if Ward has a good game, who is to say McGuire won't be put on the bench anyway if Leeds do get into the final.
Burrow, Ward and Sinfeild could do some dangerous things on Friday for Wigan.

| You can complain about refs and judiciaries all you want, it's swings and roundabouts. For instance, we've had shocking refereeing displays in the last two Challenge Cup Finals.

Your right you can complain about referees and judiciaries all you want ala your lot this week.
Wigan wanted consistency and fairness. We probably didn't get it but a one game ban is better then nothing and most Leeds fans seem to think it's a fair cop (which actually backs up my theory he was lucky as any fan would back their own player to the hilt wherever possible).
It's over and done with now anyway. Roll on the rugby.

| I think most Rhinos fans accepted Danny would get banned, it was, as the judiciary committee said, unintentional, but reckless. 1 game is fair cop. What we did object to was Wane getting up and saying it was the same as McIlorums, and that there's some RFL conspiracy against Wigan, and that contact with the face is an immediate 3 match ban.

he didnt deserve wigan attempting to influence the outcome, displays a lack of class. running through the club, the chairman and coach have embarassed wigan this week. i would be ashamed if Leeds had to undertake a pr campaign to win a match.
