| Quote: tugglesf78 "Highlight of the game was Foster making the V.R square (accompanied by a rather smug nod of the head) to Child after his try. Only for the V.R to disallow it as his foot was 5 inch in touch.'"
One problem I had with that was the touch-judge had already put his flag in the air to signal that Foster was in touch, yet Child still wanted to go to the screen to check. He either needs to have faith in his touch-judges or get rid of them completely.

| Had no problem with them using the VR for Foster's 'try'. If you've got the facility, use it, and get the decisions right. Had Thaler used the VR in the CC semi, it might have been oh so different. Yes, I know we were poor, but that's not the point. Poor decisions are unforgiveable when you've got a ground full of cameras. Yes, the VR gets some wrong too, but the majority are correct.

The touch judge puts his flag up to show that his foot his in touch. he does not decide if its a try or not. Childs made the right call.

I have to agree, Longy did cope with a lot of stick from Wigan fans. The difference between Long and Foster was that Longy was a very talented player and for me, Foster isn't! He's a good kicker but that's the end of it!

Certain element in the character there, Longy took stick in spades but we respected him as a great player; the b@$***d often used it as motivation to give it to us on the pitch.
Jamie Foster's a young lad with a great place kicking game but sadly little else; his inability to respond to the stick on the pitch shows that he's not even close to Sean Long's shadow.

I must admit ... if the touchjudge signals there was a foot in touch, I see no reason for the ref to then go to the video. If it's in touch it isn't a try and that's all there is to it. Unless the touchjudge is unsure about what he saw, in which case he possibly shouldn't have flagged but should have had a quiet word instead.
An odd one for sure.

Not always possible for a tj to see if the ball is grounded before or after the player goes in touch.
Sometimes difficult to look and or see 2 places at the same time.

Correct. Most will go to the VR in that instance as they can't overrule the TJ so once his flag is in the air, unless the ref is 100% certain he didn't ground the ball at all then he'll go to the screen. No problem with that. The technology is there.............use it.
I actually thought Child had a good game on Friday and let the game flow pretty well by his standards. I was expecting a whistle-a-thon and still being on the ground at midnight. He was talking utter balls when he said he saw the Westerman incident, but I'm glad he didn't brand the red straight away.

Aww, diddums.
Another wimpy voice from self-pity city.
Any self-inflicted injuries you lot can blame on other teams this season?

| Jamie Foster is an embarrasment, there is absolutely no need whatsoever to style your hair before a game of rugby league. Somebody need's to tell him that he isn't David Beckham.
