Maybe but the ref and linesman missed what Elima did but did not miss 1 punch from MM.

| Watched it again on SLTV, doesn't seem much in it from Mickeys point of view, so I would hope just 1 match, don't think he will get sending of sufficient. Elima should be up before the panel for the elbows though.

| I think he held both cards up as it looked yellow and Micky actually sat on the bench before being told to go down the tunnel, but when the ref was putting the card away it was definitely red that was pointed towards the East as I was confused until he went down the tunnel.

Where in the East? Behind the play or infront? It looked yellow to me on the half way line until he turned it round to put in his pocket and MM obviously thought yellow as he sat on the bench.

I'm on the half way line as well and could see it was red. Few people around me were a bit confused, they were all quite old though

It defo looked red as he put it in his pocket but as he held it up it looked yellow. Like I say, MM even went and sat on the bench.

I am an owdun but maybe I can explain what may have caused the confusion (Conroy has partially already done this).
If the Ref pulls both cards out of his pocket at the same time and one is Red on both faces and the other Yellow on both faces and holds them together what do you get, confusion.
The Ref holds up the cards and he can see the Red side,MM facing the Ref can see the Yellow side. Just a theory, but as plausible as any other.

I always thought the red card was oval shaped while the yellow card is rectangle. If I am right this couldn't happen, but it wouldn't be the first time that I am wrong.

This could be the explanation but the red side was definitely facing McIlorum, hence why everyone in the South saw that it was red. If he was holding the yellow card behind the red one then it might explain why everyone who was behind the direction the ref was holding it (ie past the 30m line in the east) thought it was yellow.
I was in the south, the ref only showed one card, a red one.

i think some refs do use the diffrent shaped cards, but don't they also keep the cards in diffrent pockets, when he binned Pryce i'm sure the card came from his front pocket, with MM the ref definitely went to his back pocket.
