What a waste of talent. I'd have him down as probably the most gifted centre that we have produced the past 15 years. I can speak from experience from when he was at Wire and I'm sure many on here can do the same, that he was a pleasure to watch at the club. I bet every winger that has played outside of him has scored 20+ each season.

It's not secret that he had a big bust-up with Michael Maguire.

What are you trying to imply?

Agreed, even though we're not renown for producing great centres in the SL era. His second try in the 2010 grand final was one of the best cup final tries ever. But talk about self-destructive - betting against himself as a player at Saints, causing the coaching staff to lose patience with him at Wigan in spite of his talent (I'm sure we would have kept him if we thought he could be managed)... Still, he has some of my sympathy because he obviously walked into a shabby set-up at Hull and has paid the price. And no amount of carping in the newspapers will get him his career back.

Hes been banned for using a product that I can guarantee at least half of professional rugby players will be using. OxyElitePro and the very similar Jack3D are commonly used supplements for aiding energy prior to training/games and also have fat stripping functions. The product was given to Gleeson by Sean Long who checked its legitimacy with the then trainer at Hull FC Ben Cooper. Martin Gleeson has been a victim here of false guidance and being the unlucky one to face punishment. Hopefully, it is sorted legally and his ban is reduced/revoked. The Wigan situation is completely separate incident to this one so those who are saying "its to do with the problems he has when he was at Wigan" are completely wide of the mark.

I am no fan of Gleeson but do have some sympathy for him with regards to this. I am sure that most players would think that supplements that are given the okay from the clubs conditioner are okay to take.
