| Quote: P-J "In Tomkins' defence, that was unscripted. He was reacting to the bile that he puts up with every week in the heat of the moment.
Sinfield's speech was obviously carefully thought out after the event. I know which one I find worse.'"
but this is not about Sam Tomkins is it? no one is denying his obvious talent.Kevin Sinffield is a RL treasure ,he is a left wing intellectual and that tells me he has had a very decent upbringing, thankyou Oldham.Enough said

| Quote: The_Enforcer "You have to say they really have come into form at the right time but i dont know if anybody else felt like the game was being played by two teams who had simply landed lucky by playing us and Warrington when we were both well below par for whatever reason? It felt like for whatever reason Wigan and Warrington couldnt make the final so the RFL got the two next best teams in Saints and Leeds. I know that sounds ignorant but its how i felt watching it.'"
It doesn't sound ignorant, but it does sound arrogant (and bitter).
Did Wigan and Warrington not know the format of the Super League competition at the start of the season?

The poster I was quoting was alluding to the Tomkins incident at Wembley, which is why I replied as I did.
Also let's not bring politics into it.

| Brian Mac's quote at the homecoming today nailed it for me...."this club doesn't break the salary cap, it doesn't cheat, it doesn't whinge & whine..it just wins trophies!!!"

Danny McGuire reached a new low last night, even for Leeds.
As Shenton - a good, honest player - lay in screaming agony with his elbow in pieces only a yard or so from the play-the-ball, with players from both teams hesitant and looking to the ref to stop play, McGuire only spits his dummy, stamps his feet and has a hissy fit at the ref when the whistle is blown.
Epitomises Leeds' whole approach to the game in general for me.

Yes, a drinking problem. Two hands and only one mouth.
McGuire on the other hand, has an attitude problem.

Wonder if he stopped to think back to last year when he was unable to move with his knee and how he felt then?

you mean when play was only stopped as wigan players and fans alike hurled abuse at a writhing in agony mcguire.
Last night McGuire was right, shenton had not suffered a head injury as he feigned to at first and that was his problem with the blown whistle. Once the referee realised Shenton had only injured his arm he rightfully continued play. No head injury, and not obstructing play then no stoppage. case closed.

I thought the Wigan players assaulted him on the ground? At least, that's what was alleged by some at Leeds? Didn't Tommy stamp on him or call him names or something?
McGuire got abuse because he tripped Carmont in a cynical professional foul. I was there and gave him grief and and I had no idea he was injured. The Rugby Gods' work was done.

That's irrelevant. Any player should appreciate when another player has received a serious injury and requires treatment. Shenton was too close to the PTB and was in clear trouble.
And...hang on...you're saying Shenton faked a head injury? Are you fcking stupid? The lad has just dislocated his elbow and he's faking a head injury? I can only deduce you're an idiot of the highest order; the offspring of several generations of enthusiastic in-breeding combined with your mother dropping you on your head (perhaps deliberately), though that might only explain your looks. That is truly just about the most moronic thing I've ever heard someone say on RLFans. Congratulations.

Did you comment similarly on Roger Meli's attempted tackle on Ryan Hall off the ball just prior to Hall's try?

I was at the game so didn't see it live but noticed it on the BBC highlights yesterday. It's was very poor from McGuire especially considering he's been a victim of a very bad injury himself.
Leeds defence sailed very close to the wind on plenty of occasions. I noticed at the game the Saints players seemed to complain a lot about Leeds players interfering around the ruck and watching it back 2 players inparticular were lucky not to be penalised on a good few occasions. Those 2 were Webb and McGuire who were constantly lying on and messing about with their hands in Saints players faces.
