| Have to say whilst I still stand by my initial defence of Charnley, I actuall think he was at fault for Warringtons third try also. He committed to Monaghan when Tomkins had him covered, he should have tracked Myler.

Never seen a player score 2 try's in a game yet be totally non existent for the other 79 minutes and 30 seconds.
Support plays a superb weapon in any players locker but as a scrum half you simply 'must' bring more to the table.
He needs to up his game.

| Took a massive effort to do what he did yesterday, He was shocking defensively but Joel did not help. he still got hung out to dry though from poor reading of the game.
To come back like he did shows the sign of true potential.

I absolutely agree. With Briers missing yesterday it was all on for Myler to show the world what he can do, but instead he was content to run in two support tries - good uns, there's no denying it - but then sign off as if that was all that was required.
For me, he's a long, long way off being an international halfback.

| Watchin that try of Charnley's has made me realise what a talent he is.
To skin two Austrailan internationals/ former internationals as he did shows hes all class.....I thought we were mistaken getting rid of Ainscough tbh but this lad has as much potential, and though has defensive failings like Ainscough, I think they are easier to fix in the long term and will come with experience. Plus as good as Ainny is in attack, im still not sure he could have scored that against players of that calibre.
Charnley has potential to be a future England player- dont worry about that! Bit of coaching and work on his defensive game. Big call but I recon he and Ben Jones Bishop will be our wingers for the World Cup.

I was also an Ainscough fan and still think had he emerged under Madge rather than Noble things could have been very different but that is water under the bridge now. We have to look at our current players and think about them. Charnley is a big lad but also has pace and so is perhaps more equipped for the modern game than Ainscough (though I don't have the stats to hand to say who is the bigger player I'd be surprised if it was Ainscough).
I think you are being a bit optimistic about those two being the World Cup wingers but they both have the potential for the future. It really is no 1 priority to sort Charnley's defence out.

Charnley struggles in defence......but Joel needs to communicate far quicker and louder. The best defences talk not sure that was going on and certainly there was no faith in the inside push.

He had promise when he was at Salford he was developing well but I feel he got cocky when Wire paid such stupid money for him and its ruined him as he's grown an ego. If they reckon Sam is a "petulant k**b" then god knows what they must think Myler is he oozes cockiness whenever I see him but his play does not follow through with what is expected from such a cocky player. Long was cocky and we hated him for it but he was a bloody good player Myler is the same without the good player part.

Myler is nowhere good enough for England, but cocky, people talk rubbish and make things up,but this is pure class.
