| Why is it up to the RFL?Surely it is up to WIGAN. If it is played at a neutral ground I very much doubt if I would support it on principal. Remember we started the thing against Manly so why does anybody else need to be involved.

There's more chance of that happening than there is of it being played in Oz.

Would be massive if we won it over there, although im selfish would prefer to see probably the best team in the world at the DW

| One very good reason it would be at the Reebok rather than the DW.
The RFL are involved in the decision.
They became involved after the game in Brisbane 1994. When the Bronocs management saw the Wigan squad, or what was left of it, so they offered Jack Robinson a winner takes all money deal.
When Wigan won the Aussies didn't pay up and, I believe, Wigan had to take them to court for a settlement.
The then CEO of the RFL thought it better that the RFL/ARL take over the comp than have a single clubs lose out. That CEO was Uncle Mo, who of course was at the game!
From then on it's been an RFL event as the game has always been held here in the UK.

| Think of it this way.
The Aussie $ is strong against the pound.
It could be a really big event in Sydney, and the Aussies have not forgiven us for beating them over there in 1994, so would attract a big crowd and lots of publicity.
It's a Marketing mans dream, and big money for BOTH clubs.
Wigan could have a breakfast and beer fest in the South Stand Bar whilst watching the game.
It could be a goer.

I would LOVE that.
What a great crack that would be and if it is not at the JJB then this would be my 2nd option.
The thing that bugs me the most about having the WCC over here, is that 9/10 times it is peeing down and this does not bode well for a free flowing game of RL.
To beat the Aussies on their own patch would be unreal and would add so much weight to the event

Seriously?'"
Latics don't have 15k for a home game. Not even against the Premier league Champions. I believe the average home crowd(minus away fans) for games this season is around the 9,500 mark. Correct me if i'm wrong.

| Quote: Odemwingie "It must be at the DW unless we are going to promote it somewhere else to get an extra 8-10k on the gate.
If Leeds can get 37k for their game in 05 then we are more than capable of getting a full house at the DW or in Bolton or even getting 30k+ in Manchester or Liverpool.
I would love to have it at home though, it would be great to start adding some history to the place, it woould be awesome for people to be talking about times gone by at this home.'"
I'm sure teh Leeds 37k was not on a Sunday. A Friday or even better, Saturday fixture would have a significantly higher attendance than a Sunday.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| This about the Aussies wanting to play it over there only confirms that we still are the biggest RL club in the world, in the past they send Paul Hogan and Dame Edna in the front row against Leeds/Saints/Bradford, as soon as it's Wigan the welcome mats are out and they want it over there ala 94 and now.

The reason St George are considering playing it over there has nothing to do with Wigan. They play the "Charity Shield" game every year against Souths and it is a huge money spinner for them, much more than the WCC would be. If they came over here to play the WCC they wouldn't have time to play that game given the way they structure "trial" games over there.
