It's gonna be a nightmare on the tram. How much will it be in a taxi?

From the centre to old trafford? I think it cost us about 8 quid last time in a black cab. Not bad if you can get 3-4 or even 5 of you in the cab.

Im parking at Sale then its straight on the motorway from there hope theres not a lot going back as its the opposite way.

I'm currently sardined onto the 11-46 the clever people at Northern Rail only put 2 carriages on.

ive just walked in after being sardined next to a sweaty bloke from piccadily to bolton.........then sardined from bolton to hindley.

I did pretty well - walked via the Lowry to Salford Quays tram stop, got on an empty tram to Piccadilly, which filled up 2 stops later leaving thousands queuing. Got to Piccadilly just in time to catch the 9.40 Wigan train, squeezed between two very attractive ladies! In the Anvil shortly after 10.

Also walked via the Lowry, but up to Broadway stop, got a seat easily with my Grandad and sat watching everyone else try to squeeze on a few stops later. No bother on the tram, got to Piccadilly in good time to get my Grandad on the train to Wigan, then got the 21:28 train down to Stafford, crammed with Wiganers going to Macclesfield for some reason.

I believe it was a nightmare on the trains last night!!

We got at deansgate for last blackpool train at ten to 11. The wigan trains werent stopping as they were full and there were hundreds of wigan fans at deansgate. Thankfully the blackpool train stopped and everyone piled on. It was such a laugh at the back of train, was a huge squash but the wigan fans were such a laugh and had a great craic with a small pocket of us saints fans. Even had them singing fleetwood songs with us.

Trains last night were a joke, 9.20 from Piccadilly was like a cattle truck. Stupid station staff and stupid railway police telling folk to move down the carriage, which had people nearly stood on one anothers heads. It was not safe and to have railway police urging you to crush people is a disgrace. Surely Northern Rail knew that loads of extra customers would be getting the train home from Old Trafford, so obviously to everyone but them all they needed to do was attach a couple of extra coaches and problem solved-Simples. Got on the tram at Broadway sat down and still seats available, by the time we got to Exchange Quay the tram was crammed (along with someone with a sickly bottom) leaving Hundreds of fans stood on the platform and beyond! rant over.

Extra coaches is something train services never seem to do, whatever the event. Really annoys me. I go to Southport Air Show most years, and it's the same with that.

trams were a nightmare all day! didn't even bother getting return tram back to Victoria... walked it and got lost in the back streets of Salford in a right dodgy area, managed to flag down a black cab though!

before the game we saw the queue for the tram and was like "no way". Taxi from deansgate took 5 mins and cost £6. No idea why groups of fans use the trams
