| Does Kear not think it was like watching paint dry for us aswel as we had to watch our lads at walking pace most of the game against one of the worst sides ever in SL?
Arsewipe.

| Kear is a bitter idiot, over looked for the England job for McNamara and fighting a losing battle to keep Wakefield on the up.

As a Wakey fan, I agree that the way Kear phrased his comments could be seen as derogatory to Wigan and whilst I am sure that was not his intention (ie I think as others have said his comments were more aimed at our inability to make it an interesting game), I can see why some of you are not best pleased.
However, to call the current Wakey side one of the worst ever in superleague is a bit OTT IMO. We were just completely outplayed by a better side.

| to be fair to the wakey fans, this same thread on theor board has received a few raised eyebrows about kears comments. to be honest i think its comeout of frustration of losing key personnel this year and some very lacklustre performances. hes made himself look a complete tool and its amused me to be honest. !!!!

That is the reason he made his comments.
After our tough game at Saints,he thought he could get something from this game.
But things are changing in wigan again,an awful lot of people know it and don't like it.

Your right, you definatly arn't one of the worst sides in SL, as for the "losing battle to keep wakey on the up" Kear deserves alot of respect, because in my eyes he took them to places they have never been before, Wakey would be playing Barrow and Leigh if it wern't for John Kear.

I've said several times before that I respect John Kear, but, however his after-match comments were intended, they sounded very churlish.
I always held him in much higher esteem than the likes of Potter and Matterson, who never seem short of a few excuses, but to hear him chunnering about maybe needing to change the rules puts him firmly back in the 'RL cliche' category.
I mean, some people really need to think before they speak. Wigan are looking very good, so the RFL have to change the rules to even things up ... AGAIN!!!
Surely some of these guys have got a bit more pride than that?
Mind you, why would they have? The last time they whinged like this, the rules were changed.

| Let's not forget that Kear brought his team here last year and went away with the two points and deservedly so.
This year his team weren't at the races.
Wigan scored in their first set of 6 and were 12 up in 8 mins.
It must have seemed a very long 80 minutes for John Kear.
Although Wigan were 32-0 up at half time Kear must have been bored rigid by the efforts of his Wakefield defence.

I didn't expect Wigan to so comprehensively outplay Wakefield, especially given the very hard game we had two days earlier. So Heaven knows what Kear was expecting. Perhaps he was in mild shock, or something. That might explain his less than complimentary comments.

I agree.
The problem here seems to be their is a growing number of the "RL family" who are scared to death that Wigan are going to reclimb the mountain through simple good management. This is bringing about a level of bitterness that is going to far outweigh anything Maurice did with regards making us successful or breaking the salary cap.

We're already experiencing it, so imagine if we actually start winning trophies?

It would see the club put under pressure from all sides, notably the clubs and the two nodding idiots on sky. IL set out with an idea and as it develops it seems to be pushing the club towards the tree at a stunning pace.
People like Potter who are seeing his "all star" team age and break up, are fast realising that his success story with Catalan mean nothing with "superstars" like Jon Wilkin as his front line of attack, so naturally his instinct is to want the team at the top dealt with by rule changes. Stunning really.
