Quote: Jukesays "I wouldn't say a Rant, just a full explanation of why I replied?
Apologies if it comes across that way but I can assure you that it doesn't bother me in the least what SLimply the Beast thinks, my only interest was to point out to others the idiotic nature of his statement and also Highlight his unearned cockiness to everyone.
Now as long as most Wigan fans can see what he's trying to do (And Failing I Believe) then that will do for me.
And even if we do only take 1500-2000 then it will be 4 x times what Wire used to bring to our place 5/6 years ago!'"

Not really much point in having a moan about people talking nonsense and having digs when you do exactly the same.

5 or 6 years ago was the period when we were bringing some large crowds to the JJB/DW. Certainly more than 500.

Quote: Jukesays "So if the Stand holds say 3k (Note, I don't know how many it does hold BTW) and Wigan have been given an allocation of say 1800 in there yet Wire fans are allowed to buy the remaining tickets now, then how the Hell can we sell out that whole West Stand when the Wire fans can buy those 1200 in advance as well?
As Nogga says, give us the 3000 and if not sold 2/3 days prior to the game (Or whatever) then send em back.'"

Cheers Jukes. Glad its not just me who thinks that this is a much more straight forward way of doing things!

It may be straightforward, but that doesn't mean it is necessarily right.

If you sell your tickets and there are some left you will get more. That is very simple, and no issue. If you sell your 1800 by Monday for example, but in the meantime we have sold the other 11,400 (which won't happen btw) then that is great, and you have been given a fair allocation. It is a Wire home game.

Quote: Jukesays "And you lot beat 1/2 a Harlequins team at the weekend and you seem to be getting very cocky!
I think it's you that needs to get a bit more realism!
where once have i got cocky about warrington and their prospects for the season? hunt away and i think you find you'll end up with eggy pie on your face. i was discussing attendances and ticket allocations nowt else!
good god, just because your not up to scratch any more doesn't mean that i'm not being realistic about ticket sales, fool! there was and will never be a reason to be as ignorant as you just have, you brought nothing to the discusion apart from dross and drivel.

so anyway, why should we give tickets to wigan fans that could be sold to warrington fans? i can't think of any reason to hold back tickets in the vain hope that some wigan fans may buy it! just to sell them to home fans 2/3 days before kick off.

that smacks a little of arrogance if you ask me.

"we are wigan, we are special, give us all the tickets, we won't buy them, but we will prevent warrington fans from doing so"

sorry to para phrase you pukesays, but that what i feel you are requesting.

so please stop your childish retorts and i will stop mine. i came on here for a reasoned debate, not a childish hissy fit.

but yes once again you've managed to reduce it to that!

nice one.

see you in the west stand, i'll buy you a beer you miserable pie eater!

I'd expect wire to sell as many tickets as poss to their fans and if it means holding our allocation back then so be it. It'll sell out regardless so may as well be more home fans.

'"

Exactly, but who got caught Hook,Line & Sinker this time! icon_lol.gif icon_wink.gif
Just to prove that someone talking nonsense can look like he has wound someone up when in reality the Original OP is just a fool?
I know Wire have always brought good crowds, probably, proportionatly to their Home support, better than what we take to Wire.

As I said, it has nothing to do with the way tickets are allocated, it's to do with people like SLIM Shady above, talking nonsense and then having side swipes at Wigan whilst he's doing it.
If they don't want to have digs back then they should rethink their strategy!

Dave T, Quick Question

Do you agree that it is impossible for Wigan to sell out the full Away End when Wire are selling some of them to their own fans before they go on general sale at Wigan?

Do You agree that Wigan have brought Very good numbers (Maybe not last year, I can't exactly remember wether we did or didn't TBH) and that this statement from SLIM
"yeh, right, i stand in the west stand every home match, last year you couldn't fill it, and this year you probably won't! some realism is required here me thinks! icon_lol.gif " smacks of being a little arrogant?

In his reply the OP has gone way off on one and resorted to personal insults and the usual Pie Eating insults and thinks Wiganners are going to sit back and let him talk nonsense & Drivel!

Top Line, I agree that anyone can post (Within the AUP) what they want, but it doesn't mean we have to listen to the rubbish without having a go back does it?

And sorry to upset NOGGA here but I also believe that Wire can do what the Hell they like with their tickets, but if they choose not to give the whole end away to Wigan fans then we can't possibly sell out? Hence my original Reply.

PS

Just bought my ticket for the South Stand (6 of us) from Warrington.
I presume SLIM will find it unbelievable that after their magnificent start to the season they couldn't "Sell out" their Home Allocation ? icon_wink.gif

Wigan have a track record of buying tickets slowly then moaning when they can't get them anymore..

If Wigan sold the tickets quick then am sure we would send more but its not as if Wigan sell out the amount they get straight away they haven't in recent seasons so 1,800 is probs based on past sales.

Fact is anyone Wire or Wigan if they want to go the game at this moment in time there is nothing stopping them from going on the website or either club shops.

I don't get why anbody cares who has what in terms of tickets aslong as the games sold out. It'll be a great atmosphere.

1800 seems fair enough to me when Wire got nearly 12k on at the weekend and this game is a bigger draw for them. Add in the fact we've struggled at times to sell our tickets for games at the HJ and it makes it look all the fairer.

I'd guess we'll shift them 1800 tickets by the middle of next week and anybody who really wanted one will have got one. At a guess the club may be able to get another 3-400 and by the looks of it that'll be more then enough.

This started as a nice thread where two sets of fans were excited about a local derby. What a shame.

It's daft isn't it.

People should be talking about the game, the players, the atmosphere etc but instead are bickering about who'll have an extra couple of hundred tickets in a stand.

I'm heartbroke we've only been given 1800 d040.gif

It really doesn't matter does it. Just get a ticket if you want one and I'll see you there! Just need to get these two games out of the way this weekend then the real banter can start!

Fact is, we are concentrating on accumulating a "much" larger crowd of 16K+ this Friday, so please bear with us. icon_wink.gif
