Heard he's signed a new 12 month contract, Carmont offered 12 months but wants a 2 year deal, also he kneeds a shoulder op in the close season.

I heard his playing days where pretty much over, and that he would not be offered a new playing contract at Wigan due to his age, and the severity of his injuries!
With regards to Carmont, i could see the benefits of a 2 year contract, still one the best centres in the league for me, I cant think of anyone else who is availiable who is realistic and better.

27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

BN is rather fortunate Wigan didn't tell him to stick it every time it was announced that he was looking for another job. It's happened more than once during his tenure at Wigan - Leeds, Warrington, Catalan, Aus, etc.
So possibly what goes around comes around.
Still ... you're right about one thing. They will be in a pickle if they don't appoint someone better.

I would rather ask myself the question why was he looking for other jobs.
Secondly you cannot mess your coach around and leave him not knowing if he is coming or going and not expect him to look at other options.
Lastly do you have any solid proof that he was looking at these other jobs?

I remember Catalan last year and was he not looking @ Leeds because Maurice & Whelan were a nightmare. Now we have a proper chairman, he wants to say, it makes sense to me.
When did he look @ Wire?
I don't see who we can appoint who is better, Wane may be a good long term option, but we are very close under Noble, unless the appointment is world class, surely IL will be proved to have been to hasty?

Do you have any that he wasn't?
You only need a rumour to get around, and no-one to firmly quash it, and the club and fans are going to start wondering.
That's what happened.
Anyway, I'm not getting into this any further. I've expressed my views pretty clearly, I think. Now all I'm interested in is the match.

How do you get solid proof that he WASN'T looking for another job? You want all the Chairmen to stand up and confirm they haven't spoken to him?
When you're coming to the end of a term contract you have absolutely every right to find a deal to suit you, and if your present employer doesn't snap you up, you are bound to look elsewhere.
