It should be a 2 year contract with an option of a further year. The club have got to show faith.'"
And if it goes wrong, we are stuck with him.
I hope Wane stays doing the job he clearly does well, as has been said, the risk of us losing him is great.
I think Wane getting it is potentially a sign that IL hasnt got any of his other targets, if so, id love to know why, but I suspect all we will here is that "he deserves a chance"

I can honestly say that he would not be mine - Certainly not my first choice anyway.
I'd sooner have an NRL assistant, than somebody who has never coached in SL at any level, and has been out of the game for several years altogether.
Add to that the money that would be required to tempt him away from his son (in London), his Guiness Premieship job AND his job at Wales RU.
Admittedly, he will motivate the players - But who on here can HONESTLY say that they know that Shaun Edwards can coach SL rugby ???
He's more of a risk IMO than either Wane or McGuire, through a simple lack of RL coaching experience.

| a good set of players will look after themselves to an extent if your a good player with out about you when team is struggling you would come forward and put your hand up and raise your game i.e it wouldnt hurt gleeson to look for a bit more ball and try do summat instead of just standing about with his finger up his ar*se when you play rugby league all your life you should be able to work on your own instinct as well a being coached. of course we need good coach but some times if the players cant be bothered what can a coach do he isnt on field. For me to make an opinion on a new coach or noble id like to no does the coach really make the final desicions on signings or does ian lenagen make the desicions if its IL we cant really blame noble for out.

I would say it is better to use someone from within the club rather than go to our second, third and fourth options. If we have Mcguire in mind then we should get him at all costs.'"
if we cant get no one we stay with noble. i think appointing shaun would be a bad move, yes hes wigan through and through, but i dont think hes up to sl standard, also i dont like the sounds off having an assistant coach and a 21s coach

i agree hes 99% off to celtic, feels soory for him the way hes been treated the last couple of weeks, theres just no experience in the coaches though, and theres not much on the field come to think off it

| Quote: MADDOG1983 "i dont no how we can have apinions on someone we dont no much about like maguire. He must be 3rd in demand at melbourne behind bellamy and kearney. We talk about people from nrl like there supermen theres nowt saying maguire will be any better than wane as he wont no any of the young lads proper and they are going to be very important next year if we are going to even make top eight without any signings whatsoever. Also when we do get a new coach who really makes signings? owner or coach. I dont care if we got wayne benett with that set of players again we will struggle we need a balance of youth and experience and i think were we really need improve is the front row obviously and we need good fb phelps is good squad player and trys very hard but im sorry hes not good enough if we want to win cups.I think warrington was laughing all way to bank when we bought gleeson he is just overated and lacks motivation for me and were stuck with him now and were was the sense in giving some one like roberts a 4yr deal when we have good kids and it no good saying give then time all the time. farrell radlinski edwards all played when they was good enough not when over a certain age they have either got it or not.'"
McGuire is second in command at Melbourne. When Bellamy is on State of Origin duty McGuire runs the show. He was also favourite for the Brisbane job when Bennett left but he wanted to see his contract out at Melbourne.
He's very highly regarded amongst his peers.

And you had a tantrum when I accused you of being on the campaign trail. Nothing's actually happened yet. Nobody's been announced - and this is your conclusion !!!

Codswallop.
Noble has had plenty of chances, and has failed to get it right. I saw him and Lenagan chatting away after a match only a couple of weeks ago.
