The fact Warrington have never broke the salary cap, i think they will find it hard now thats it's live.

Moran has got more money than you can poke a stick at, so money wise it is a gamble he can afford, every player a club signs is a gamble im sure you will agree....so dont see where the problem is, and i dont think anyone really thinks its 300k.

You cant break a live salary cap.

Course you can but you would get docked points for it.

Why doesn't Odemwingie or any of the others stop and ask themselves this: is it not true that, just occasionally, newspapers have printed stories that are not entirely accurate?

Believing what you read in the MEN or the red tops is the first step to living your life as an illusion. These are the sort of rags who report on Big Brother as if it were important world affairs.

A copy of all contracts is held by the Rfl, so any contract a club tries to register which would take you over the cap will be refused, thus no signing, no salary cap breach.Before clubs was audited after the season, so they was able to breach the cap, not any longer.

Some Wire fan I was talking to at the weekend told me "I'd just been talking to the chairman's best mate" and reeled off a list of signings being:

Myler
Atkins
Fui Fui Moi Moi (sp?)

I took it with a pinch of salt as I normally do with these kind of things but with this announcement it gives credence to the others. Wire certainly look like a club with ambition unlike us who just seem happy to settle for mediocrity.

I do not for one minute think the contracts of Warrington players are in breach of the cap, as has already been exposed though its the payments away from these which are a potential tax mindfield that increase the payments to players and unofficial sponsors etc.

Again though i do not have an issue with this, it does go on, and fair play to the clubs who do it, it would be moronic to be against the cap in its current format and slate a club for finding ways around it.

So if thats not against the "spirit of the cap" what is ??

Wigan were splashing out the cash left right and before the days of the internet revolution, in a time Wigan were the only player in Rugby League, the rest of us were just a side act to the Wigan show.

So for you lot to be criticising the Wire for splashing the cash is a bit rich. If the Wire do break any salary cap rules that is the time to have a go, until then think you will have to live with the fact the Wire have a wealthy backer who is willing to invest. 20 years ago you were doing the same but on a bigger scale which in turn almost ruined the great game of ours.

Only if proved which is far easier said than done.

As i said i don't have a problem with it personally, each Chairman decides if they want to go down this route and as I am against the cap in its current form you cannot really slate a club for finding ways around it.
