| Quote: NickyKiss "I had a look on the Townsville bulletin website before and theres an article on there saying how they may have to release one of their 3 off contract props at the end of the season because of the salary cap even though all 3 are preforming very well(Tronc, Scott and Bolton were there names).
At the bottom of that it said they may be saved from doing so if Wigan come in for Webb!
Are they trying to palm off an over the hill Webb on us to keep all 3 of these lads?
Would it be worth targeting one of those 3 players instead if they're outpreforming Webb?'"
Yes. They want Webb off the CAP so they can afford to renew and update the other contracts at the club.
Webb isn't what we need.

| Looking at Finch and a person I would have reservations before signing him. Will he be able to stick it out overseas? He has a tendency to fall out with coaches/players. I could see him running back to Oz if things weren't going his way at Wigan.
As a player he is decent, but good enough? Jury is still out.

| I'd love it if we signed Webb. Fielden (icon_surprised.gifopsicon_smile.gif and O'Carroll/Prescott starting and Webb and Feka off the bench.

Webb would have to used as another 20min interchange with Feka. Not got the fitness to be an enforcer or work horse.

But together, he and Feka would make one hell of an interchange.

Yeah it would be awesome. But I would sooner spend what CAP we have on an enforcer/work horse prop.

| Why do we need a work horse prop?

We need a prop with presence, someone who will be on the field longer than 20mins a time.
Someone who can make the hard yards and get through a lot of tackles. This kind of prop leads by example forcing the rest of the pack to raise their game and through aggression.
Then the pack would be able to lay the platform for the halves to play from.

We don't Fielden is still a work horse, he still plays plenty game time and puts the effort in where some others don't.
We need someone hard as nails to strike fear into the opposition.

Oh yes I forgot how dominate our pack is
Forgot about Fielden's influence and our the rest of our pack.
Forgot about how we week in week out the backs play behind a beaten pack.
seriously head down to the JJB and watch a few games.

To be fair though, how many props in SL do that?

| Brett Finch wanted to move from Parramatta to Melbourne (which he did) earlier in the season because of a drinking ban which was placed at the Parramatta club.
He has been playing well alongside Cooper Cronk from what I've seen when Melbourne have been on TV but I can't help but think Brett Finch is just too inconsistent and that isn't what we need.

Props aren't scared of other props. You need someone who'll make a lot of metres, not someone who looks a bit scary.
Morley/Peacock/Graham aren't the top SL props because people are frightened of them, they're the top SL props because they work hard and take their team forward.
That's the sort of prop Wigan need IMO, not a Webb.

But a big hit or big drive lifts the team and the fans and that is what he would bring, we need a player with fire in their belly.
