Quote: SRC "A long way !?!?!?!

It's less than 2 hours minutes from Wigan which is as long as it takes for us (I'm a Barrow fan) to play a 'derby' match vs Haven or Workington !!!

The A590 is a much better road than it was when you last visited (late 80's ??). Our Chairman and main sponsor Des Johnston is quite matey with Nobby apparently, so everyone's a winner.

It'll be like the good old days for Barrow fans and you Wiganers to some degree. The 'real' Craven Park (Barrow) will be like stepping back to a time you played at Central Park. The club has big plans to redevelop Craven Park (a ground we own), but at present it's changed little since it was built. On the plus side it is covered on all 4 sides and creates a fair bit of noise with a decent crowd in.

Hope you all have a great trip and we give you a game.'"

Be a great day the A590 is a great road now but even better its only £22.50 on the train

There's 1 grandstand (1,000 capacity) and the rest is terracing. I don't ever remember segrigation or away teams having stands allocated as the terracing can be freely walked around.

No, Mick hung up his boots at the end of last season and the club couldn't really afford to keep him on in a coaching-only capacity which was a shame.

Always gave 100% and played a big part in our promotion last season.

You have no chance mate.

I think there will be many season ticket holders disappointed as well.

That would depend on where you get off the M6.

have they mended all the holes in the roofs?
last time i went (2nd division days) it chucked it down and we decided to spend the game in the bar.

great trip......easy to get to (we went on spur of moment after a sunday lunch pint).....and was a memorable day, with the players joining us in the bar after the game.......magic.

i'll be near front of queue for tickets deffo.

Take junction 36 off the M6 onto the much-improved A590. Stay on it for about 40 minutes tops until you get to Craven Park, Barrow. Piece of doddle.

Parking-wise, I'd use the Hollywood Park retail area, just across from the ground where they don't clamp. Tesco (also just over the road) DO clamp.
Hollywood Park has a Pizza Hut, a KFC and a Drive-Thro McDonalds. There is also the Ambrose and Wheatsheaf pubs just aoutside the ground, but remember to buy plenty of ale and food inside the ground !

5 pages and nobody has mentioned that the blokes bogs at one end offer an uniterrupted view of the pitch while you're having a slash icon_biggrin.gif

Will be a great atmosphere up there; pub next door to the ground is a cracker as well, laid a spread on for us after a cup game there last year after they had a load of thirsty Leythers fill their coffers icon_smile.gif

Depends what the allocation is. If it's 1,500 plus I think that'll be plenty.

cant do that.....its selective restriction or summat.

when you bought your season ticket it advertised "free entry, first come first served"...cant change it.
you could have a scenario where loads of people who havnt been to any away games snap up all the tickets.

hardly fair, but within the club policy as stated in advertising literature.

Should be a blinder!!!

Best draw we could have hoped for, 5 Super league teams guarenteed to go out. And we get the luxury of an easy tie and a big booze up. Love it.
