I thought Riddell did ok yesterday but I would like to see more attacking runs and creative play from him.
I still think it will take him a good few weeks to get used to Super League as it seems to me that he's still testing the water at the moment.

The forwards should be running onto the ball as soon as Piggy arches his back to pick the ball up
On the bright side it is nothing an hour on the training pitch won't solve |

Yeh I agree with that.
It can be solved easily but under Noble you have to wonder.
This should never have been an issue, it's basic rugby. |

However I'd be more worried if we were saying this around September/October time
I am not Noble's biggest fan but I have confidence in him to get the players doing the basic's right

Riddell put 3 passes to ground, innumerable passes to head, and looks slower than a tax rebate.
And to all these people claiming that Riddell only looks bad because the other players around him aren't reading his plays, have you ever played the game?

In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. To me Riddell looks like he's put weight on since he got here.
I accept Piggy is never going to be svelte but surely he can be made to lose a few pounds?
I've lost all faith in our fitness and backoom set up. Why can't they put him on the same kind of weight loss regime that Inga was put on when he arrived?

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

Riddell needs time, so many players come to this country and take time to settle in, Richards was garbage in his first season, some people said get rid, glad we didnt now.

I agree, a much improved performance last night, still a lot to come from the big lad but thought did well. A nice controlled performance. |

Yes, and what I posted above was correct.
He offers nothing.
He is slow, his passing accuracy is terrible, and if he is fit then I don't want to be.
It was his best performance of the season so far, but that is saying very little.
So far, a huge mistake of a signing.
PS, All these youngsters that aren't quite ready? that's two that have been tried, and both have put in the performances of the season so far.
The foreigners are still not showing up. |
