Mickey was tackling the player as he was getting the ball and it was certainly not certain that a try would have been scored as he was about 3 meters out when he hit the ground.

I agree, two wrongs don't make a right. He should judge on what he's asked, and not try to even the game up after a bad refereeing mistake earlier. This is not only against the rules, it's stupid.
