I was only suggesting because using capital font is generally seen as SHOUTING on the internet. It's kind of an unwritten rule that people don't like it. But if his caps lock is broken then fine.

Because the whole message board is a joke and always has been.
To answer the question I'm not sure on Sam Powell. I think Joe Mellor offers more, sadly he still remains injured. Powell still young though in fairness. Greg Burke and Liam Thompson impress me at that level but we need some quality backs not forwards. Also like the looks of Liam Carberry. I think he's a better hooking prospect than Logan Tomkins. Dave Woods was talking during the BBC Commentary on Saturday that Logan might make a third Tomkins in our first team but I'm not seeing it myself. Rogues will probably give you a better opinion.
Elsewhere hard to judge the Under 18s this year. Only seen two games - one was won 76-4 and the other lost abysmally at Saints. Not sure the new system of playing friendlies helps either, they've never had a settled side yet.

Wasnt a dig at you Bilko you usually do answer the questions, shame on you this time though
I feel sorry for Logan Tomkins there will be so much pressure on him to succeed because of Joel and Sam, his brothers success could have a massive effect on the way his career pans out.

If you hold down Shift while you type, it negates Caps Lock being stuck.

| I've watched most of the U18's games this year and the lads that stand out as future 1st team prospects are Greg Burke, Ryan King, Matt Russell, Liam Carberry and Danny Bridge.

I would agree with that. Carberry looks as though he could get a game in the first team within two years.
Sam Powell is the best defender for his size that I have seen for a long time, but I like my scrum half to have pace off the mark and good hands. I haven't seen anything from him to suggest he has either.
Logan Tomkins, I'm still a little unsure. He has certainly improved this season, but will he go all the way? I think we'll have to wait and see.

| When's Joe Mellor likley to return to playing?
I'd be interested to see him play/develop in the under 20's.

They've been very quiet about his injury (unless I've missed something).
Anyway we're going to need to sign up a lot of youngsters if you are to believe t thread on the VT.

| Sam Powell has got the hands and defence but unfortunately as mentioned struggles in terms of pace, he isn't the Tomkins/Eastmond mould who can spot a gap and race through it, don't know about his kicking game either yet. Decent prospect though.

| Regarding Sam Powell, I think he maybe better suited to playing as a hooker rather than as a scrum half. However the performances and development of Liam Carberry would suggest Sam would be behind him in the pecking order as a number 9.
I've been very impressed with Matt Russell's performances. He is a solid defender and has unbelievable footwork. In games this year he has made beating the opposition defenders look very easy at times.
Did anyone attend the last U18's game against Huddersfield? Rory Kettlewell was very impressive on debut. Don't know much about him and wondered if anyone could shed any light on where he's played before.

Kettlewell is from Harrogate, and was awarded a scholarship at Sedbergh (same school that Will Carling went to) I think he was (or is) in of the top RU clubs academy's.
Although he played centre for the U18's I'm told he is normally a scrum half. His passing in that Huddersfield game was superb.

| Yes, some of his long cut out passes to create tries were exceptional. He scored a good try and kicked goals as well. A superb debut!
