| It's going to be hard for anybody bar the people sat in the west stand to give him any sort of reception really. It's not like he's going to be announced onto the field for the fans to applaud him and the games not on Sky so his face won't be flashing up on the screen every 2 minutes.
I'd imagine it'll be a pretty low key welcome back with a few rounds of applause from the West stand and a few pats on the back. I can't see the Stadium erupting into singing his name.

| Singing "There's only one Brian Noble" hhhmmm - is that not kinda disrespectful to the new regime?
Don't get me wrong, if I was going tommorrow (my 21st party so I can't) I'd participate in giving him, what is essentially, a well deserved warm welcome. However, singing his name and whatnot is far too OTT.

Exactly, it's a new season, let's look at what's ahead not what's behind. A few rounds of "Mike McGuire's barmy army" and refraining from singing "Cheer up Brian Noble" should do it.

I agree and tomorrow he is the enemy. End of story.
My appreciation for his efforts at Wigan have been said. Now it's a new management team and we move on.
I hope we muller them tomorrow.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| He was great for the club and took us as far as he could, I will always be grateful for what he did here.
Now he has gone, I wish him the best with his new team, I hope they can be really succesful.
As for tomorrow, I hope we put 40 on them and see his sad face at the end, along with some pathetic explanation to why they lost.

| As already said many times by other fans BN saved us from certain relegation, I will always hold him in high regard for that and yes he took us close to two Grand finals but the past is the past. MM is the new man at wigan who can hopefully bring the good times back to Wigan.
Tomorrow Night is the start of hopefully a new glorious beginning and if the players what to be sucessful as they say they should want to put as many past the crusaders as they can never mind who coaches them.
COME ON WIGAN!!!!!!

| I've finished making my 'Thanks for saving us Nobby' banner for tomorrow. Great coach and would be in NL1 if it wasnt for him

| Ian Lenagan opened the Fans Forum with some kind words about Brian and his time at the club. I hope Nobby does get a loud round of applause.

| I think he deserves a good reception, regardless of what you think about his coaching style he always stuck me as being a decent chap and handled his last few months in charge with great dignity in what must have been trying circumstances for the lad.
Anything to over the top mind would seem a little two faced!

| 100% Warrior ? Can't go because it's your 21st. Next thing you'll be saying you can't go because you're getting married the same day. Pull yourself together and get your priorities right!

Why?
Surely he/she is entitled to their opinion and entitled to express it in that manner if they so wish.

He saved us from relegation four seasons ago and has been thanked a million times by every Wigan fan regardless of their opinions on how he did after that.
Polite applause is IMO more than enough but having banners for an ex-coach at the first home game the new coach is in charge is IMO wrong.

I agree, but each to their own I suppose.
