How???
He's not been there for 2 years, and look how good they are doing this year. They should make the play offs for the first time (I think).

I'm not as fans we should be judging the board based on the players they bring in, the sponsors they have on board, their performance within the laws of the salary cap and the way they handle themselves, which ultimately reflects on results on the pitch.

All what goes on off the pitch is bound to effect the players on, constant speculation is damaging for players (and coaches) confidence. Look at Man U in 2002 when they where told Ferguson was leaving half the team gave up. Players ending their contract might think "well the chairman is after so and so, what is the point in me running my bolox's off for this coach? When he won't be here next year and neither will I".

Is this true? I hear one story one week that he’s sold up and then you hear completely different the next.

If it is true then IL needs to have a word with himself.

IL should be as we speak tabling an offer to himself for LMS and Danny Orr.

He owns 60% of Quins RL and gives them £600k a year. Also his company sponsors them.

23 - 20 - 4 Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png

Still owns 75% I think, but has to sell up by October. I'm sure the Quins fans can add some clarity.

Quote: DaveO "It is not my word at all it is what you can read for yourself in the press. Unless you wish to accuse Noble if lying he found out about IL speaking to Kearney from contacts down under.

But then I only have your word for it Noble went for the Les Cats job don't I and that he applied for the Roosters job or whatever? What do you base all that on?

It gets a bit tiresome when people come out with arguments saying "do you know IL actually said that" or whatever when they will happily draw their own conclusions on events without, of course, having their own position confirmed from the horses mouth.

The articles in the press on the Noble situation are not occasional comments. You know as well as I do what has gone on but are prepared to justify it whereas I am not.

I have no idea what you thought of Mo but I do know there are some posters on here who could not stand the man and had any coach gone to the press saying he had found out Mo was talking to a potential replacement from his mates down under the lynch mob would be out. However when IL does this it is a "little while lie" and all fine and dandy. I think the word I am looking for here is hypocrisy (not that I am accusing you of that because as I said I have no idea of your position on Mo).

I do not start from any particular position but read what is in the press or witness what people actually do and draw my conclusions from that taking each event as they comes. So far by doing that I have come the conclusion the way Noble situation has been handled are just downright poor IMO. It has got nothing to do with what IL has done before or any preconceived opinion.

What I do on a consistent basis I believe, is call a spade a spade. If I see IL doing something I consider wrong I see no reason not to say so and certainly not out of any fear as being classed as someone who is determined to find fault. Equally if he does things right I will say so.

You might recall I was on here saying IL would not have signed Ainscough to a contract that meant the club might not be able to play against this season.

I concluded this would have been a silly thing to do and our chairman would not do such a thing. There were the usual comments of "how do you know that" and my response was I was adopting a reasonable position as the notion the club would do such a thing was stupid. I simply adopted what was a reasonable position that turn out to the correct one.

It is the same sort of thing here. I believe I am being entirely reasonable coming to the conclusions I have based on the quotes in the press from people involved namely Noble, Kearney and Orr.

Dave'"

To be honest at the moment I couldn't give a proverbial about the rights and wrongs of all this. (I mean no offence by that comment.)

The reason I can't get excited about the IL/BN situation is that the club seems to be losing its way. The shocking state of the club at the moment is far more upsetting than whether or not IL or BN is the one in the wrong. Frankly between them they are making a real mess of things in any case.

The only thing I care about is seeing the club returning to the standards expected of Wigan rugby. That won't happen unless there is some radical change at the club.

I'd say the opposite and say nothing has really come out in public.

What information is being leaked to the press? Of that which you mentioned:

Who we are going to sign: we haven't signed anyone and we don't know who we are going to sign. I don't even think the club themselves know who we are going to sign. Rumours are bound to go around, however, ultimately all most rumours prove is that know one knows.

Lack of sponsors: can't really hide that can you? It isn't like there was an announcement from the club saying "we can't get a sponsor" was there. It was obvious we were looking for a new sponsor because we didn't want to be linked with the JJb anymore, and plus Lenegan got an excellent deal with Mecca.

Managers future: as with sponsor, it's something the club cannot hide; Noble is out of contract, we haven't renewed his contract therefore it's obvious we are looking elsewhere. This thread has in fact proved that no one has a clue what's going on 'in house'.

Rant at the players: that, in my opinion, should have come out into the public. It wasn't in detail i.e. X told to get fitter, Y told to grow some balls etc. but the fans needed to know that something was being done to try and correct the attitude of the players.

Hock's A sample: it was the RFL who made the announcement. I'd be very surprised if Wigan had any say in the timing of the announcement. And also, didn't we have every right to know?

I don't think Lenegan is above criticism, far from it, however I'd say the examples you gave were poor, and in fact portray him as more than a competent business man who is far superior to Mike Ashley.

A lot of info is leaked into the press,

1. IL came out on radio Manchester saying he would like certain players, Finch, Webb, Ben Hamnent etc these are all players IL has pubicly come out and said he wants to sign, maybe not all in that interview but certainly in local press.
2. Hogan and IL came out and said they couldn't get a sponsor and where struggling getting a sponsor I believe he mentioned something at the Fans Forum regarding this. Surely it would be better served keeping quiet untill a suitable sponsor was found, rather than devaluing the club by stating we where struggling with this issue.
3. Managers future: to come out and say well it will be determined on fixture's and possible Silverware and nothing's been decided till the end of the year and then try too tap up Kearney, this is not good businesses thinking as it will destablise the players half the team.
4. As for Hock's ample it was leeked to the press, Wigan gave an offfical statement and then the RFL gave their statement.
5. You explain how he is far superior to Ashley???
