| I'm a bit like those who are terrified of snakes where Wigan are concerned: some learnt or inherited view that it's best to be wary of something that can be dangerous. Truth is, my optimism for Leeds' GF chances will increase once your chances of a play off berth are a mathematical impossibility, should that happen. But my view remains that it ain't over for you just yet.

| Quote RichieS="RichieS"We looked pretty good??? We looked very average, and won against Catalan and Salford (two poor sides) and cruised against a very very weakened Leeds. We were beaten by a poor Warrington and made to look very average against an excellent Leeds.
Huddersfield have found form...I too believe they will turn us over on Friday. It will be close, but the fact they have form and we do not will play out.
I appreciate your optimism, however, we will not even come close to the top-4. I genuinely think 8th is where we will remain. However, as with last year, I pray I am made to eat my words!'"
I thought we deserved to win by more against Salford. We had a try incorrectly disallowed (Davies) and two harsh sin bins, yet still beat the 4th place team by three scores. Catalans is a tough place to go, and they nearly beat Cas in their following home game, so more than happy to win comfortably there.
I don't think we will make the 4, but there is some massive overreaction going on. The sky isn't falling in just because a strong Leeds team beat us at Headingley. It's amazing that we are still in with a chance given the injuries we have had.

The clubs too busy arranging pointless games against teams from the NRL to be worried about that. They have priorities remember.

| It would really be a shame if Leeds and/or Saints made it to the Grand Final, it would be good for the game if Cas and Salford contested the final, new blood so to speak

| Quote Grimmy="Grimmy"We are 4 points off Saints, who still need to play us, Leeds and Hull in three of their remaining games. We are also 6 points off Hull, who have got to play us, Saints, leeds and Cas in four of their remaining games. If we win all 6 remaining games, then we will be in the semis IMO. This is last chance saloon though, Saints beating Cas was a major blow.
I think we will beat Huddersfield and Salford in the next two games, but I can't see us going away to Saints the week after Wembley and winning. After that we have three games to potentially try new things - S.Tomkins in the halves and using the props as props being my preference.'"

Props who could do more than 15 mins without needing a rest would be a help. If Peacock & Morley could manage it into their 30s, why on earth the likes of Sutton cant is beyond me.

I don't mind the way we spell them to be honest. None of them are significantly better than the rest and we have four props so two spells of circa 20 mins each makes sense. It's the fact we don't really utilise them which bothers me.
More or less every team does that so we aren't unique. Peacock and Morley were freaks, and played in a time when it was fairly common to have a back on the bench so they needed to do bigger minutes. Teams almost always go for two props, a hooker and a back rower now.

Presumably you would have preferred to see Salford in the Challenge Cup final.... new blood so to speak
