10172_1376829585.jpg Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013
Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013
Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg |

Take nothing from Cas. No excuses. We move on.'"
When did we sign him? I must have missed that

To be serious I'm not amongst those on here who think Cas will fade. With Millington and Lynch to add to that pack I think Cas are justifiably second in the bookies odds for GF success- just behind Wigan in fact.'"
We are now favourites for the grand final. According to WH anyway. That said, on Monday you were favourites to beat us last night with WH.

Sorry to be pedantic but you were 8/13 favourites with most bookies last night though you could have got better odds earlier in the week when the bookies hadn't realised how many players Wigan were missing.
You will note that the bookies are still rating Wigan as favourites or joint favourites at 15/8 for the GF. Third favourites Hull are a long way back on 5/1. Leeds come next on 8/1. No value in backing Cas. Especially with over three quarters of the season to go. Your season is mirroring Shaun Wanes first year in charge 2012 when Wigan stormed to the LLS only to be beaten in the playoffs by Leeds who won the GF from fifth. Are you confident that Cas can maintain the early season form? You do seem overly reliant on Gale to me.

| To be honest I thought Cas didn't get out of 2nd gear and as soon as we went behind it was game over.
Clubb, Flower and FPN need to get their fingers out, they're passengers at the moment, losing to the worst St Helens team I've ever seen next week doesn't bear thinking about.

Largely unknown territory for us to be honest. Can we maintain it? I think we might be able to, but does depend on a lot of factors. Can we manage our squad well enough? Yes, I think DP can. Can we handle the pressure of being talked about in the media, being amongst the favourites with the bookies, and playing the type of rugby that wins you the big games and grinding out a win in a wrestle? That I can't answer. Big games and finals take a different mentality and experience counts a lot. Having said that, you can only get the experience by being there, win or lose. I think we are a good enough team/squad to be able to do something special. The question for us is, are we mentally strong enough to stay in the fight at the business end with all the pressure that comes with it. For us to consistently be challenging top 4 the answer to that needs to be a definite yes. Will it be this year? Only time will tell. One thing is for 100% sure - we will have a damn good crack at it, and we have a coach who has a great chance of getting that mentality into the players. See you all again in a few weeks at our place

Indeed. There is a bloke who sits in front of me who leaves with five minutes to go come what may. The scores can be level but he still gets up and off he goes. It cheers me up no end when we score in the last minute and he is getting held up trying to get out of the ground with all the like minded walkers! You've got to laugh.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| That's him O'lochlain.
Plays when he wants that lad,yes of course Wigan are GF favourites and rightly so.
But can't you see that the way a lot of Wigan fans talk is why other clubs dont like them, yes you are a massive club that is a given but every time it's not going right for you it's either injuries (no other clubs must get them) or the refs fault (they all hate Wigan)
And the famous Wigan walk last night was amazing

| Can Castleford win the title ?
Well of course they can but being competative throughout the season is the first task, they showed they could last season as well with a injury table worse than Wigan.
Our season/Club can be measured on various things rather than just winning the grand final.
About 3 years ago we were 24 hours from going into administration, We are a small town compared to the rest of super league so what we have achieved over the years is good.
Over the last few years our fan base has increased bringing in more revenue and therefore a bigger squad with better players, the club is now on a firm footing and is now self funding which it hasn't been for many years.

Cuts both ways though, doesn't it? Every time it goes right for us we've either cheated, set out to foul our opponents or turned professional when nobody else did. Can you see that the way other clubs' fans pedal these myths is the reason they occasionally get short shrift from some of us?

| Quote: Jukesays "In a couple of sets for about 10/25 mins mid 2nd half Wigan kept Cas pinned in their own 30 - Gale etc. Kick and find our Wingers and fullback on the full and not a word said.
Same thing happens to Wigan and Tommy Kicks and he's the worst kicker in the world!
It's hardly amazing that the team who's forwards etc. make most yards and kick from a better territory position oftern seem to Kick better! I wonder why???
Let me give my 2penneth
Any kicker kicking from inside their own 30 with 2 wingers dropped back and a full back covering 60 mtrs of space will hardly ever find space.
The only real poor kick last night was when Powell kicked from Dummy half round about the half way line with about 15 to go.
As for Tommy L
Probably shouldn't have played against both Hull and Leeds but "Put his hand up". Not usre whether he did last night or whether he was fully fit but & I'm not a Matty Smith Hater
Tommy is a couple of steps up the ladder on Smith any day of the week!
Been really happy with our effort etc. and how the young lads have played these last 5/6 games.
Davies is going to be a real star for me
Forsyth had his best game for me last night and played really Hard - ran it in Hard and Tackled hard.
We've got to get to the End of May in a decent position WRT a Top 4 spot - 3/4 wins out the next 6/7 should do that
If we get a fair amount Back (Budgie/Gelling/Lockers/Mickey/Tierney?/) then we should do that - With Sam/Gildart/Bateman etc. potentially coming back then I'm more than confident we will be in the shake up'"
There was a kick by Williams on the third tackle too that went straight to a defender. Waste of possession.
Forsyth shouldn't be anywhere near the first team - he's crippling the attack down that side.

| Well firstly you DID turn professional before everyone else did do there can't be an argument there
Cheated, fouled players Etc... is banded about to any club that is succsesful in any sport.
Behaving like spoilt brats when it's going tough is the problem,I for one have no problem with Wigan and they were the club who brought everyone up to their level rather than sticking with mediocre.
The famous Wigan walk last night said it all again about your "some" of your fans.
They only follow the club because they are successful.

Well said that man.
The constant accusations that we cheat annoy me no end. It was interesting at Leeds last week when if anything we came up against a side that exploited every bit of 'professionalism' against a somewhat naive Wigan team.
I've even read Wire fans argue that they would prefer not to win the GF if it meant 'winning like Wigan' i.e. Cheating. Actually, maybe that's why the refs hate us!
