Current Saints players I like/respect even though I know I shouldn't:

- Cunningham: great player: inspirational captain and he has done bloody well to be at the top for such a long time.

- Graham: never gives less than 100% and one of the best props in the competition.

In stark contrast, I can't stand Long or Wellens. Both can be brilliant but I don't like their attitudes and I feel the latter has been lucky to play in the team he does (well as lucky as you can be having to play for St Helens.

).

Wiganers I have coveted despite myself;

Hanley - all time sporting great IMHO

Offiah/Robinson - always a frisson when they got the ball at their peak, you always wondered if they were going to score

Botica - rarely seen a more metronomic kicker

I would say that Lulu would murder Greg in most aspects of the game.


However, Greg would be the more creative imo, and his fitness failings would be covered up by the rest of the team.


In short, I would rather have Greg at 7 in the current Wigan side.


Then again I think TL is a 9 not a 7......................

So 20 years on and despite massive Fitness improvements and tactical awareness improvements and the Fact that Greg played most of his career playing very different rules of Rugby League against Beer Bellied (In your words!) Part Timers you would still have him over a World cup winner of the Modern Era!
