It reduces chances of getting it, and transmitting it. (It doesn't stop it).

| Out of interest for all of you who want to sack and get rid of NHS staff for not wanting the vaccine and assuming it gets delayed or removed. Are you going to ask if they have been vaccinated before visiting the doctors or hospital and refuse to be treated by them if needed?

Pieman I support the vaccine particularly for the elderly and if you have other morbidities but it just doesn’t stop you getting the virus or passing it on. If the vaccine guaranteed you couldn’t get the virus I could understand the rationale albeit my instincts in the first instance are against mandates.
I’d like the front line staff to have the vaccinations however, forcing them isn’t the answer and it just doesn’t guarantee that they won’t catch the virus. I know I’m repeating myself but it’s just illogical and actually it’s unethical.
I know of numerous friends, family and work colleagues who got covid recently and everyone has had at least two vaccinations with the vast majority having 3. Actually I don’t know anyone within my family or circle of friends who haven’t had their vaccinations.
A recent review from Cambridge highlighted that in hospital you have a significantly higher chance of catching covid from another patient rather than a nurse, doctor or porter etc. The chances of getting the virus from say a nurse are exceptionally low.
Currently we are going to fire highly trained staff who more than likely have had covid and probably have more protection than if they had the vaccination on the remotest of of probabilities that they may pass on the virus whilst a patient in a ward with covid passes it on to numerous other patients and everything is tickitybo.
It’s illogical and frankly sheer coercion.
The Scots and the Welsh are obviously more logical and thoughtful than the brain frazzled English.

Would just about sum the Johnson government if that is the revised step.
Spineless and reckless in equal measure.

my sister caught covid from a nurse, a nurse and doctor etc will have more a chance of passing it on due to the contact the have with so many people in the hospital without having the virus but carrying it on them.

because she recalls when it happened.....quite simple really, a nurse with symptoms came into work and was sent home and hugged everyone on the way out, was at the start of the pandemic
