Quote: Yorkshire Warrior "Very happy with that performance - especially the defence. Attacking aggression good too when we needed to re-start close to our line. The attack was potent but I reckon we bombed at least three tries so there is still some improvement in us.'"

Agree with all of that and said on the way back how much our defence has improved.
Hopefully no injuries and with Ellis back a good problem for Peet and his staff to have.

Quote: NickyKiss "The bench had a huge impact on the result. The starting pack defended so well and then all 4 of the lads on the bench came in and put dints in the Wakey line. I thought they made the real difference between the sides and it allowed room for Field and co to play in.'"

Difficult to pick out our best players today as most of them had great game.

Impressed with Mago, Hardaker and Farrell today.
Farrell is a brilliant player for the club.
His work rate and consistency border’s on the ridiculous at times

I think Smithies is playing particularly well at moment. I wanted him to up his game this season and for me he is playing at different level to previous seasons.

Field is just a pleasure to watch. How he picks up speed seems almost effortless. I genuinely think if required he can actually run even faster.

Not a criticism but if we had a player who could kick as good as Lino we would be a real threat to any team.

Wakefield arguably shaded that first half with a better much kicking game (other than kicking out on the full). However I felt confident at half time as we'd had three sets of possession in their half and scored two tries as well restricting them to six points.

Second half was a different game altogether, an early try put us in full control and made it pretty comfortable in the end.

Field & French running through was a joy to watch, Cust and Tommy controlling things and the forwards put a great shift in, especially Bateman and Farrell.

No injuries as far as I could see and the performance and result should give us confidence going into Good Friday, couldn't have asked for better really.

Not sure what his contract situation is with Wakefield but you'd have to be daft not to be interested if there was any chance, a direct replacement for Tommy would be an obvious choice.

Smithies is having a top year. He will take a while to get the plaudits he deserves but they’ll come. I’ve said loads of times I see him as a younger version of Morgan Knowles. He is somebody who can hold your side together, lead by example and set standards. He’s not there yet but he’s on his way and hopefully if we can keep improving as a team, he like Knowles will get the praise for all the unfashionable things he does.

He’s got this year and next I believe. There was a bit of talk of us being interested for this season but that shifted towards the Miller rumours. He’s absolutely ideal for what this team needs but it looks unlikely unless he fancied it and we stumped up plenty of money.

Thought you guys did a good professional job on us today in both attack and defence though score a bit flattering to you the try just before and after half time made our heads go down but we showed enthusiasm and not just reliant on johnstone-though he would have had a hattrick today- and fifita

Got talking to a young guy at the game who suggested we should try and sign Lino.
I must admit at the time I didn’t think it would work but actually on reflection it probably would work a real treat.

I’d like to think that either Cust or Smith could work more on their kicking game particularly on the last tackle.

For a sport that talks about territorial possession I’m constantly amazed of how few decent kickers there are within the game.

I thought it was our best performance of the season so far and a lot closer to an 80 minute effort.

Even in the first 20/25 when Wakefield were well on top that was down to their good play particularly the 2 40-20’s and forced resets. I had concerns that spell May cost us towards the end.

More than anything I was impressed with our discipline both with and without the ball, a lot less errors and penalties. Credit to Child too, didn’t really notice him which is a sign he had a very good game & I thought got all the important decisions correct.

I think o could write a fairly lengthy list of players who were very good. Was nice to see French getting more involved. It’s an exciting prospect when he is back to full fitness having him & Field in the side.

Have you seen Mitchell Moses this season, Itchy? He has been terrific for Parramatta. But I don't think we've seen that kind of class in SL since Danny Brough. But yeah, Lino has been great in their last few games, including today.

Took a knock to his shoulder apparently. It didn’t sound too serious so we’ll see.

There could be some tough choices for Friday. Fingers crossed for Marshall as you say. I’d want pace on both wings against Saints to try and exploit space in behind. I just hope they keep Hurrell in that centre spot and we’re able to run Field at him time and time again. There aren’t many cracks in that Saints line up but he’s one we could potentially expose.
