| Just on route back and as much as you want to win games I'm not too downhearted. That was a great game to be involved in and a great atmosphere. We need to be better but we will be and we'll have a shot at trophies.

We wasn't perfect ourselves and are very much still learning and gelling like all sides are at this early stage of the season. At 16-0 we looked comfortable and you scored a few tries against the run of play which at the time was disappointing. We've lost our so called star man and have a new half back pairing but the early signs are good. 4 wins from 4 and a whole different mood around the club so no I'm certainly not 'worried'. Last season we would have gone on to lose that game as soon as you came back into it. I'm not going to get carried away as we are very much a work in progress under Powell but I certainly think top 8 is a realistic target for us.

| As soon as Cas got the ball from the short kick off I just knew they sneak in.
Anyway 30-31 to us would have been unjust as in the 2nd half we were dire.
Had this down as the 'post WCC banana skin' as Cas are in great form.
Plenty for SW to mull over.

| Some decent signs today in attack but by god we were indisciplined and terrible in defence. Cas deserved the win they wanted it more so fair play to them. Easy things to fix up like silly penalties and poor decisions in defence and we'll be fine, not too downhearted. I am a firm believer that in sport you'll get what you deserve and Cas eventually got that today, albeit a cruel last play win .

| Worst I have seen us play in a long, long, long time. Can't believe we were so close to victory, cas should've beaten us by at least 30, good job their defence is e too or that could've been embarrassing.

| I see the large order of grace, humility and class has yet to be delivered in Wigan!
A great game from our point of view and for what it's worth I think we would have won by more as someone suggested earlier, had you not brought your own ref!

Yep we get the win and should be worried because we only just won and they didn't play well. You couldn't make it up.

Your spot on it was a great game and a brilliant atmosphere. I don't think either side was at there best but it was a good contest. Young burgess is a prospect and half. The only downside to the game was the high tackle from mccallorum which has left Dixon with a broken jaw.
Has for the season Wigan will be fine and cas should make the top 8

42181_1527427546.jpg "I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."
An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_42181.jpg |

| we would've won at a canter had 'Micky Mac' been sent off for his horror assault on kirk Dixon. He's suffered a suspected broken jaw, we had to shift a centre to wing and a 2nd rower to centre for 70 minutes, totally disrupted us and all we got was a penalty. With that being said I am thrilled with our win.
Full credit to the Wigan fans who travelled today, a good turn out, that pettybourne will ruffle a few feathers this year, burgess very good, Farrell looked to have found some of last years early form. All in all I thought we deserved the win. Onwards and upwards.

| There seems to be a history of handing out broken jaws in Cas v Wigan matches.
I recall Dean Sampson doing one on Kelvin Skerrett.
Also, the even worse one by Hepworth on Colin Tyrer at Wembley.

| One game away from home against an in-form Cas side, 16-0 down at one stage, poor discipline & poor tactics, a lack of enthusiasm, a seriously exposed fringe where Sarginson/Burgess operate and an ordinary goal kicker yet we only lost to the final play.
You can only gain success after learning from failure. This was a bad result, not because we lost, but because we didn't play well. If we gave it everything and lost then it would be a different scenario but we didn't.
Still, we can improve our discipline, we can change our tactics, instil a greater desire for success against the so-called lesser clubs and look at alternatives to the kicking problem. We have also seen a bad defensive performance from Sarginson & Burgess, both young players with lots of potential. It's up to them to show their mental toughness in become smarter and meaner.
Nothing from today suggests we cannot win the title again, to suggest we are doomed to failure is a despondent view. If anything this could be a good scenario in ensuring we improve to the changes in other teams and to meet their desire. We should want to beat Castleford as much as we do St. Helens.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Wane will have us react against Hull KR

Read a few Cas fans praise Farrell, I thought he was very ordinary by his own high standards.
