He drags it in towards him but the try happened right in front of us and the ref sent it up as a try because his view is initially blocked and he runs around the bodies and can then see it is on the line at that point. Hand on heart, I wouldn’t be happy if that was given against us but all this talk of him not getting it on the line at all is wrong.'"
100% all the social media stills are from when he gets pushed back.
He absolutely gets it to the line and there’s a fair chance the tip of the ball was touching a blade of grass.
The bitterness is amazing, just shows the level Wigan are at. The jealousy is insane.

The same people saying he didn’t get it to the line are saying they could see May did get the ball down in that last second incident (there is literally no camera angle in existence that showed that).
It’s been heart warming reading all the bitterness today, it really has. I am a bit disappointed that Robbie Rich Wolf Curry Mon hasn’t been on with his congratulations though.

What I find nauseating now is the comments that Peet is coming out with. I was a big supporter of him initially, a talented young English coach who spoke the truth.
However now it seems that only his players are mates with each other, only his club does community work, only Wigan players are in the trenches with each other. It’s as though no other SL club has a winning culture and it’s starting to grate.
.'"
When has Peet said Wigan are the only club to do such things ?
He’s often praised saints for being a similar club to us with regards youth etc.
You’ve been coming on here for years telling us how good saints/Welsby are, many of us have agreed but you wouldn’t give Wigan an ounce of credit for defending for their lives for 80mins against a brilliant team with several players missing.
The occasion last night dwarfed the preseaon challenge game from the year before and you know that.

I'll always stick by my comments - your win last year was good and something to be proud of. This year was harder. I don't expect you to agree, but to not even say well played is laughable.'"
That was what Jamie Peacock said

Now go and toddle off back to Redvee. I’m loving the fact that Saints fans are almost crying, I’m loving the fact that in the space of six months we’ve taken both the grand final and world club trophies from you. Did I mention that I’m loving it
You forgot to add, halfway through the NRL season

Did you seriously think that I was going to come on and congratulate you like some of the other clubs fans have done?
I doubt anyone would’ve jumped up at Dodds DG last year and I fully understand that. Wigan want Saints to lose every game unless it benefits Wigan and vice versa.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. You can still respect the club, fan base, youth production etc at the same time. The 2 things aren’t mutually exclusive.'"
I have to be honest Stu I didn’t jump up and down at Dodds drop goal, mind you I didn’t watch the match.

It actually suits in a way as we are flying hugely under the radar. There was even a poster on here that said HKR will win a Grand Final before we do again.
I just hope we can make the play offs based on that.'"
Where has Peet made these comments? For me, he can say what he likes he has done it all in a very short period of time. The reality is he has nothing else to play for unless he becomes England coach. For what it is worth, I can only see Wigan or Saints winning the GF.

| Quote: Stu M "Really not sure why anyone would think a Saints fan would’ve been on here last night.
I deliberately kept off as I knew emotions would be high and posters having had a few scoops.
The fact remains that the Wardle try was the biggest impact on the game. There is no way he got the ball over the line. Strangely just after Kendall said he’d viewed all available angles the next replay showed it was short.
Not sure how Moore can categorically give that as a try but not the May one at the end. FWIW I didn’t think that was a try either but it’s still strange that Moore gave one without the other. I’m not at all surprised that the Aussies are going mad.
I actually think this could be the end of the WCC as a concept. I’d be very surprised if their champions travel here again with an English ref.
You’ll all cite sour grapes but you can’t accuse Saints fans of not coming on and then just tear apart what they say.
And the poster that said any other SL would’ve conceded 50 against Penrith last night is laughable. Clearly forgotten about a certain team that won it in Australia without having played a SL game first.'"
It is likely that the WCC will be in Las Vegas next year.

I could see that happening. Another thing that has made me giggle since we won on Saturday is the notion that 'the WCC won't happen again' and the 'Aussies won't want to come over here ever again' after the controversy.
What do you think makes the WCC stronger as a concept, Saturday's occasion or the pre-season challenge as it was labelled last year? FWIW, last year's WCC attendance was the lowest since 2000.
Saturday night was a huge win for rugby league; you only need to see how much Fox Sports are dissecting it.

| Phil Gould (obviously) and Greg Alexander both saying the ball was short of the line and ending their argument there. I think guys like that are failing to acknowledge the ball does get to the line because they then wouldn't know how to complain about a robbery. Is it a double movement? that's the decision but he doesn't lift his arm and normally the attackers body is behind the ball and not in front, so the ball slides in towards Wardles body and there is an argument to say it's the defenders force that moves it. It was a very unusual occurrence and one that I cannot remember any examples to compare it to.

When I watched it a couple of times on the big screen live I said double movement. Still think that's probably right with Wardle dragging the ball into his body as opposed to promoting the ball away from the body as you usually see. But the decision wasn't what was probably right - the video ref needed evidence that the original decision was definitively wrong.
As for Liam Moore's original decision, I heard one pundit (maybe James Graham) say he made an assumption...but that's the rule. Refs have to make a decision one way or the other even if they don't have a clue.

Ref shouldn't have given it as a try then really. In fact, this needs to stop immediately in my opinion and any VR decision for a try, then the VR decides and the VR only.
It just creates a 'cop out' because of the on field decision. If you don't know. just pass it up and hold them accountable.
My opinion ? I thought Wigan were fantastic, and the brilliant defense won them the game. Wardles try was never a try in the memory of man. The Penrith try on 80 mins had more chance of being allowed but there is no way I can discredit a side from that type of performance. It was magnificent. Take your luck and enjoy the ride !!
