| Quote: CyberPieMan "Regardless who's to blame in this or the real reasons (aka money or the lack thereof, in all probability), can we not just try to concentrate on getting the season on track & not end up stressing about relegation - which is where i believe we're firmly heading. Whoever the next coach is (unlikely to be LAM, i'd say) we shouldn't be faffing about with that until we have a bucket of more points on the ladder.'"
To get the season back on track we need some bodies added to the squad, have a bit of a clear out and loan some players out.
We desperately needed either an organising/kicking 7 and leave Tommy at 9 or out him back to 7 and get a hooker - Matt Parcell would be a good option, so that Tommy can fight it out with Sammut when he returns for that spot.
We also need a big prop, someone like Bousquet at Catalans.
We also are a second rower down, Matty Ashurst would be a good option.

I think he’s more keeping the door open in the future for him. I wouldn’t actually be surprised if we hired an NRL assistant for a few years and IL went back in for SE.
Interesting conversation on Twitter between Phil Wilkinson and Bobbie Goulding with the latter recommending Ellery Hanley. He’s been out the game for 11yrs since leaving Doncaster in 2008 and for me would be a bigger shot in the dark then Shaun Edwards ever was but with the right team behind and around him, could you say no?

I wouldn't wish Arrogant Hanley on any club.

I’d have more respect for all parties if the club came out and said “We agreed a verbal contract, but we made a mistake of not getting Edwards to sign a contract for whatever reason, that has come back to bite us on the backside as Shaun has sought a more Lucrative future elsewhere. We are currently looking for our next coach, Adrian Lam is being considered as a candidate and is in the best position to showcase his skills as custodian of the coaches position now. Once we have something finalised we will let you all know in due course. We hope this clears things up”'"

You'd better get used to every name under the sun being mentioned on here in the next few months.
The trick, if it's one of yours, is not to take it too personally. That just makes you looked scared.

| I think it's good news for Wigan myself.Just because he is a former great of the club means nothing. You could get Denis Betts or Andy Gregory if that's the criteria.Edwards has been out of the game for a long time and has never been head coach. He's also dour.As dull as ditch water. Just imagine a post game interview with him after a home defeat.

I think his interviews are honest and to the point which is refreshing in this era of cliches.

100% this
So much for giving fans clarity yet again Lenegan treats fans with contempt and he wonders why crowds are going down

I’d say Wanes rugby is the reason crowds are so bad this season.

Wanes rugby was bad but it brought success, don’t get me wrong I want to see exciting rugby and I was on the Wane Out bandwagon as well but looking back I’d like a balance between them both. I don’t believe Wane’s rugby was a reason the fans stayed away. IMHO the selling of our stars (Sam, Joel, MM) and the recruitment of far lesser players is a huge reason they’ve stayed clear, alongside poor marketing and promotion from the club. Look down the A49 to Warrington to see what can be done with effective marketing and promotion.
For me it’s not just the playing side that needs reform and rebuild. The backroom staff needs it, the marketing team needs it. The whole club top to bottom needs it. Maybe then will we see crowds coming back.

Correct. Paul Macleod, mate of mine funnily enough but he’s doing a superb job over at Warrington.
