| Is it just me Grimmy or have you just proved Mr Headline right?
his quote says end of 2013 and a "potential" move?
If Hock has been persuaded to stay by Koucash why couldn't Hansen?
no smoke without fire and all that!

Apparently Hansen has bought a new 5 bedroom house in Leigh, so he's not likely to leave these shores, and a mate who knows his family says he couldn't afford a 5 bedroom house with the wages Wigan were paying him.

The comments were last off season not this off season. So more like loads of smoke and no fire as Hansen played for us all season and Wood played for Wire all season

I guess it's pointless saying anything until the signing is announced ah.

In Leigh he could.

The signing may well be announced, but your mate's auntie knowing Hansen's wages etc is the sort of guff we get on here all the time.
If Salford sign HH it will be because Wigan have made a decision to let the player go on the basis there will be some advantage in it for themselves. And because your chairman has stopped wheedling and finally stumped up a very, very significant amount of cash.
Stop trying to have both the player and some kind of silly moral high ground.

| First, I don't want Hansen to go, he's a very important member of our first team playing squad.
But I can see Wigan dilemma.
Do they match Salford offer of a three year contract, at an increased salary?
If they do, where does that leave Jack Hughes, Greg Burke, Connor Farrell, Rhodri LLoyd, John Bateman, Rob Lever etc?
Do we risk losing some of these players?
Look at the Saints fans on their views of contract extensions for Laffranchi, Wellens and Gardner.
Lenagan, Wane and the rest of the "management" team will have short, medium and long term plans for the club and playing rosters. Good luck to them on this one, I think it's lose lose situation.

I agree with your reasoning, but can't see it as lose lose. It would be lose lose if we didn't have the best young second rowers waiting in the wings - but we do! Onwards and upwards for Wigan, whilst Brian Noble has to manage an ageing pack that will last one season tops.
If they are offering HH a three year deal then good luck to him, he has a family to support and allegedly a five bedroom house to furnish! However no way would Wigan offer a three year deal, and nor should they.

| Harrison is only 28, he is one of the best 2nd rowers in superleague , what the club are weighing up is will he still be one of the best in 2-3 yrs time.
Will he lose a little pace due to injury or age/intensity catching up with him, if so would he make an excellent prop..?? Will his hands last 3 more yrs due to the ongoing problems he has with them.
The club has a difficult decision to make, either way they will most likely be slated by some supporters, from a personal view I think H will still be as good in 2-3 yrs time and if so he should be playing for wigan..
we need a crystal ball ( the one used for the decision on letting Fielden go would be useful)

The lose - lose situation is a personal one in all honesty. I've watched H come through the ranks from him being 16 years of age and saw him score two tries in the U17 academy final in 2002. In that time I got to know his mum & dad and have met up with them on many occasions home and away for a pre match beer.
IF he goes then I really hope he gets a fantastic deal and just meet up with Shane at the Salford games.

I also heard that Salford were "stumping up a very, very significant mount of cash" but I couldn't vouch for the source.

I'm not sure whether this is supposed to be implying skepticism or not, but if so, I'd argue we aren't likely to be giving him away.

That Leigh to Salford commuting route that is on a par with the exodus of the Jews, both in terms of hardship and time scale?
