Quote: Bondi_Warrior "im guessing you dont know much about a rugby clubs finances or how much it costs to run a Superleague team, taxes, etc. Im not sure why you dont think the stadium will take much maintenance but no doubt the the guys running your club will see it a little different.'"

I know sweet feck all about any of it but what I do know is that a brand new stadium will not cost £150,000 a month just to keep a safety certificate, which is what Knowsley Road cost the club. And it will bring in way more revenue, which isn't hard given that Knowsley Road brought in hardly any over and above gate receipts/season tickets and some pitchside advertising.

Quote: Rogues Gallery "£2 million doesn't even pay the wages.
If you have borrowed £6 million at a "preferential rate" of say 5% which would be a fantastic deal in todays world that's £300K a year in interest payments alone. Don't forget that Saints last published accounts showed a £1.3 million loss and a liabilities of £3.6 million And all that is before the Widnes experience and tax man.'"

Some of the £6 million is to be converted into shares so that looks like it doesn't have to be paid back. And you have no idea of the rates secured by McManus from his bud in Asia. And since we've just let our Chief Exec go, I can't see the stadium staff costing Saints £4 million a year somehow. Oh, and we aren't spending to the salary cap either for 2012. The club has stated that publically. And you haven't taken into account away fans revenue or any other form of revenue, for example the sponsorship deals already published.

So, in short, you know nothing.

Taken from your own Chairmans report.
Last month, it revealed increased losses, from £861,810 to £1.38m for the year to October 31, and stagnant revenues of £4.83m

And he vows this will not be allied to cost cuts, despite a £400,000 rise in salary costs, which are now at 79% of turnover: “In terms of non-rugby staff, we have been lean and mean.

That give a wage bill of around £3.82 million.

This is my favourite bit

And he said the board is committed to the recapitalisation, but added: “If someone wants to knock on the door and offer us a couple of million, we would welcome that.”

I would just like to add if anybody fancies knocking on my door with a couple of million i too would welcome that icon_lol.gif

But he hasn't given Saints the money has he?

And how much do you think the staffing costs will be when "In terms of non-rugby staff, we have been lean and mean" and spending £3.82 milion?

I know you like to look on the gloomy side of things when it comes to Saints, but lets face it, McManus knows what he's doing. The stadium was always going to cost money (the sort of money that no rugby league club has sloshing about spare) which would have to be raised.
It seems from what's been said that at least part of (if not all of) any debt will not be paid back in cash, but converted into shares.
Meanwhile, Saints will have what will be probably the most enviable assett in bristish rugby league at their disposal and on their balance sheet.

Look on the bright side, at least you won't be ing in that gutter in the toilet block with no roof next time you have a fixture against us.

Nope. But you have no idea whatsoever as to the terms of the loan so you are talking out of your backside on this whole matter.

Incidentally, Saints are closing their town centre shop at the end of the year so that will be another saving on present costs. The shop will be based at the stadium.

What next? Watering down the beer to save a couple of quid? Cheaper tracing paper bog roll in the toilets? icon_lol.gif

But it won't affect the wage bill which was the point I was making. She has no idea how much it costs to run a stadium, a point Bondi Warrior made, and he will have a much better handle on that than she has. icon_wink.gif
