| Quote: Pieman "they already are dismissing them arent they? my employer is doing it and is a huge global company so I suspect they know employment law'"
If it was my company I’d resign and personally I’d chin my manager.
If there is an hill to die on this is it.
Will be interesting to see Pieman when someone actually does take this to court as this is inevitable. I’d happily fund any nurse or doctor suing the nation for it’s totally incomprehensible law of firing loyal staff because they don’t want to have vaccine that doesn’t guarantee you cannot get or pass on the virus. It’s a total utter nonsense.
I think February 3rd is d day so to speak. Johnson doesn’t know what day it is let alone the societal impact of this totalitarian statement will have. If this isn’t stopped life will have have irrecoverably changed for a generation or more.
The support on here and within society in general for nhs staff is lamentable.

I got Covid over Xmas and I'm fully jabbed and boosted. Why should i get docked pay for getting Ill? What an absolutely stupid comment to make.'"
Wooooosh.
You don’t get sarcasm do you SP?
So a nurse will lose her job without being jabbed but a nurse who has had all 3 jabs gets the virus but no problem.
It is totally and utterly illogical just like not paying anyone who gets covid.
So do you support sacking all nurses who haven’t been vaccinated?

No I don't actually and definitely don't on a moronic topic such as this.
There's a vaccine - stfu & have it simple as that. Vaccine = good & illness = bad. It's 2022 FFS, not sure how it's not the most simple thing to understand. Please don't bother with a reply as I couldn't give a rat's with the whataboutisms, personal choice or conspiracy theory of the day.

| Most companies have a sickness policy which will determine what (if any) sanctions are placed on employees who take time off sick. Mine does, and I'm required to have a return to work discussion with staff after a sickness absence. One of the mandatory questions is to ask as to what preventative steps did the employee take to avoid being sick. This has traditionally been for coughs, colds, muscularskeletal absences, and its aimed at whether they take vitamins or undertake exercise/physio that has been advised by a medical professional to treat pre-existing conditions. However, now we have covid-absences, the question is asked in a way to determine the vaccination status, and whether the employee has taken medical advice to get jabbed. Somewhere down the line I see unvaccinated employees who develop long covid being shown the door because they will be deemed to have not done everything they could to avoid serious illness.

I’ll reply because I can.
If you want me to stfu message me and let’s meet up. Anytime anywhere.
There’s a vaccine that I’ve had plus the booster and I’d recommend to everyone to have it. It doesn’t guarantee you won’t get the virus but your happy to fire potentially thousands of staff that haven’t had it.
Total common sense.
Do you support firing nhs staff that haven’t had the vaccine?
You’ve not the to reply to that have you?

Isn’t the question being asked re vaccination status retrospective? What if an employee got long covid before vaccines were developed?

Yes I do and anyone else that doesn't get it too. Nurse, factory worker or star even Wigan player for that matter.
Like I said vaccine = good and illness = bad. If someone can't see that, then do I really want them looking after me when I'm sick and under the care of the NHS?

Fire them now then.
Why wait until April?
Get rid of the monsters.
No dole no social.
So the last 2 years they have wasted their time and energy working in the nhs? Didn’t hear you saying 12 months ago to fire them.
What if a nurse gets covid should he or she be fired?
You do realise that any current vaccine doesn’t guarantee you can’t catch or pass on the virus? Thankfully it does reduce the chances but doesn’t eradicate the possibility.
If someone doesn’t want the vaccine will you hold them down while someone gives it to them or will you be happy to jab while someone holds?

its always been the case so I dont get why people are getting uptight, like I said earlier my sister is a nurse and she worked with a new nurse who was let go because she had the measles vaccine (mandatory like many other vaccines they have to have) and it wouldnt take after 3 attempts so she couldnt be patient facing, the covid vaccine job loss isnt a new thing. most NHS staff I know are disgusted with the staff who are refusing the vaccine after what they have gone through

Fire them now then. Why wait?
Should we fire nhs staff who get covid?
If the vaccines do not give a100% guarantee of not getting covid what is the logic behind this?

I thought they already were, does it not reduce (not stop) the chance of transmission?
